Hi fellow wagon lovers ! I just drove home last month a 1990 Colony Park (story and link for youtube slideshow in the Welcome Wagon section http://www.stationwagonforums.com/f...ark-happy-owners-in-quebec.40101/#post-363422 . I might have an opportunity to buy some facing rear seats out of another panther wagon. Would anyone know if they can be installed with no drilling/alterations ? These back seats would only be used for show and for occasional very low speed use like in campgrounds, so it doesn’t really matter if I cannot anchor the seat belts. If it’s necessary to make holes in the trunk floor though I’ll let go this idea. Here is a picture showing the way the flipping panels are installed in the trunk floor. Thanks !
I read your Welcome Wagon post, and saw the (well, they're not 'circled') trio of wagons...and I'm envious! You might want to google "1991 Ford body manual;" you might be able to find what you need for installing these seats. As I recall, the anchors for the bottoms are bolted to the body, but I never attempted to remove the tops on my brother's '83 CS. Good luck to you, and if you have technical problems (such as driveability or electrical problems), don't be shy, just PM me and I'll do my best to help.
Hi Silverwinkiehobo and thanks for your advice ! I found a 1990 shop manual where the entire assembly is illustrated and like you mentioned each bottom is bolted to the body, by 4 bolts, 2 of them being placed right next to the gas tank. As the car is all original I’m not inclined to drilling the trunk floor, and also there’s an uncertainty whether the guy who sells the seats also kept the associated hardware, so I decided to leave it like it is. Also thanks a lot for your disponibility, I appreciate it a lot, it's my first experience with a panther car so your knowledge will certainly be of great help sooner or later The picture of the trio shows the wagon with 2 other CPs that also belong to the previous owner. They are so rare up here in Quebec, before he sold one to me he probably owned 90% of the panther wagon fleet in the whole province!
