Spent Friday and Saturday at the Hershey AACA show and caught the last day of the station wagon exhibit at the AACA Museum in Hershey. Below are photos of many of the wagons and I also included links to five albums of photos I took over the two days. There are almost 2000 pictures in all and there are more wagon pictures among the photos.

This album is from the car corral and vendor area on Friday. That means almost all the cars in this album are for sale or had sold during the week.

This album is the AACA Museum in Hershey. It includes a special display of buses, the larges collection of Tuckers in one place, and the special station wagon display. The station wagon display included one of the Stageway stretch 1962 Chevy wagons from the Milton Hershey school ( a work in progress).

This album from Saturday (the day of the car show), includes a few more cars from the car corral and also part of the show field. Most of the show cars in this album are prewar cars.

More pictures from the show on Saturday. This is the largest album with 1000 pictures. This one is mostly post war (50's to 80's) cars.

This album is mostly photos I took as the cars filed out at the end of the show.

Below are many of the wagons you would find in the albums. If your interest extends beyond just station wagons, check out the links above to view all kinds of cars and trucks from 25 years old to over 100 years old.

These pictures are among the car corral and vendor area picture album. How about a really clean Escort diesel wagon to start?

My favorite among the wagons in the car corral was a 65 Bonneville wagon.

A buddy of mine had his 68 Monaco in the show, and has enough kids to fill it.

The custom Chrysler wagon in the AACA museum exhibit was also on the show field on Saturday. We bought our '76 Colony Park from the owner some years ago.

The diesel Escort wagon from the vendor area was in the Driver Participation class, too. Not only is it a diesel, but it's an '85 -- last year for the Squire Option on the Escort. In fact, it was only offered for the first half of the year, as Ford did a moderate redesign of the Escort and dropped the Squire Option about halfway through the year.

By far, most of the Escort Squires I've seen have been '83s. This is the first '85 I've ever seen; I wasn't even sure they actually produced any. For that matter, it took me a long time to confirm that Ford even offered that option in '85. Unlike previous years, Ford wasn't promoting it that year. There were no pictures featuring the Squire wagon in the Escort or wagon brochures, and only a very short mention of it buried in the option list. Too bad -- for me -- that it's an MT car (5 speed, I think -- automatic not available with the diesel engine). I don't think I could even get my foot on a clutch pedal in an Escort. I wouldn't mind having an '85 ES to pair with my '85 Country Squire.

By the way, it's in incredibly good condition. Hope it won something.

Great pics, Jim. You've got true talent.

This an incredible amount of quality pictures. I was there Thurs., Fri., and part of Saturday. I would like to say I saw it all but I probably did not. Every section led to another section that just seemed to go on forever. It is a shame that the threat of rain really started to clear out the vendor section starting Fri. morning. It was forecasted to start at noon so a lot of people started packing up early even though it didn't start raining until around 3 0'clock. Thankfully the arena there was open, that's where I hung out until the rain stopped but by then it was pretty much over.
I liked the '65 Bonneville also but $40,000 seems like the very top end of the market, not sure if it sold. There were a lot of low mileage survivors and 'barn finds' in the car corral and the pricing seemed a bit optimistic. There was also a beautiful '55 Chrysler in the vendor area but I can't get my picture to load. Also there was this '49 Olds woodie minus the wood but an interesting project for $7500.

I did not get to see much of the show on Sat. as I needed to collect my station wagon toys that had been part of the display at the AACA museum and then start the looong trip back to Florida ( 75 mile stretch of I-95 in So. Carolina is closed). Next time I'll have to allow enough time to see the show.

Below is a picture of the wagon related treasures I found. The ambulance is a Hubley, the Plymouth is a Corgi, The Falcon is an Australian version from Trax and the Family Truckster is a Hallmark ornament.
