All those photos, and claims, and not one picture of the underside, or the engine?

There were pics of the under and engine when I looked. Both look very clean!

He's got tons of pictures, including the engine compartment and underside. Took a few seconds to load.

Nicely done. I've always felt that Epay should have a specified format that requires certain shots to show all the cars features. Wouldn't be hard to do either. That way it gets rid of as lot of the BS.

I would trust this guy without ever meeting him. What's there to chance with this car?
    -- It's a no reserve auction.
-- He tells you the engine is tired.
-- He photos EVERYTHING on the car.
-- He photos all the flaws up close.

I agree with you about a template for E-bay, Mike. I can't see them requiring as much as Dave did on his ad, but there should be a certain amount of information and photos provided as a minimum.

I agree, KK. Absolutely. I especially like the shot of the old guy he bought it from! :thumbs2: My life would be considerably more serene if everyone showed their car in this way on Epay. :yup: What I really hate on some of the ads is the 40 paragraphs of flowery Bull Sh!t. If everyone showed the car like this guy did...I wouldn't have to read all that BS.

    just looking and just saying

    (1) The car DID look pretty good!..There WERE a lot of photos, and it DID take a while for all of them to become pictures.I've liked these wagons a long time now. It's even okay that none of them ever came with woodie...
(2)If you don't like the six(and why wouldn't you?)you can either build it up---or trade it out for an S-10 four banger and four speed auto...I'd go with the built up six, myself.A super stock kit,TBI or even better---direct injection, maybe a lowball supercharger...Or a 327 and four/five/six-on-the-floor.But you'll need to beef up the suspension and brakes for that drivetrain...Maybe one of those Buick V6's,we were all talking about before...Oh,,,and a woodie package. It's allready got the all important roofrack...:yup:

Oooooo.... A Buick Grand National turbo V-6? that would be cool in this car.

I didn't post this concerning the car per se, I mainly wanted to show what a good E-bay ad looks like.

A car this nice, I would rebuild the 230 and add a lil bigger cam and keep her original. Great milage and more then enuff power for such a small and light car. I like the hubcaps, they set it off nicley, though the whites would have to go and white letters would replace them. Very nice car from a seemingly very honest guys.

The sixes of that time fall prey to the attitude that wagons fell prey to...The sixes just aren't powerfull enough! They're not going to get you a good 0 to 60 time. You won't be able to burn rubber...Yeah and, that's NOT what the sixes are for!..Colony Parks,Country Squires,Custom Cruisers. You can't drive them like a Mustang or a Porsche. What good are they if you can't run a slalom course at 95?..Well,,,you DON'T,that's NOT what wagons are for!..I've been peeved, for a long time now,by the attitude that all cars are supposed to drive the same. And that sameness is for them all to drive like a sportscar...I think that it was that attitude that helped lead to all those Explorers rolling over...No,there really isn't anything wrong with 60's sixes. They serve a specific purpose.Making mileage.Moving a smaller car at an acceptable pace...And wagons aren't supposed to be sportscars running slalom courses at high speeds...To be truthfull,I'd probably keep that ChevyII's drivetrain as stock as possible. And,like you, make the adjustments internally.

One problem, the guy is a curbstoner!

Sure he seems honest but he bought the car for profit, pure & simple!

One owner because he never registered the car to himself, he's just passing titles!

Good description but endless hype, my god!

Seeing in the ad,all you would look at in person,is definitely a plus...I was talking about the early 60's V6's,,,but a Grand National Turbo V6 would definitely make this a "sleeper".And need those bigger brakes i was talking about...:yup:

And what exactly is the problem with that? I, as well as about 99% of the worlds population, has bought something to resell for a profit. His starting price was $100 and there was no reserve. If he gave $2000 for the car and is letting the world bid it up, I tip my hat to him, he has no BIN price set, he is letting the bidders decide what it is truely worth to them and that is smart business! :thumbs2: There is no such thing as a 1 owner car if bought anywhere but directly from the factory, the dealers all own that car before the first person, they sign the title over to the buyer and that makes the buyer the 2nd owner. There is no Hype involved in this ad at all, he has been very detailed in his discription and great with all his pictures and is a example that the rest of the seller on FeePay needs to take lessons from. :2_thumbs_up_-_anima
