After what seems like an eternity the long awaited forum upgrade will finally occur, barring unforeseen circumstances, the week of September 6!

I setup a demo with a copy of the database from 2015/08/21 to show you what it will look like. I still have some things to tweak and need to write some user guides, however I would like to get your feedback before the final upgrade. Please feel free to post test message, uploads, add to the garage and create new resources. The demo will be removed prior to the upgrade.

To access the demo, you will be promoted for a generic user name and password. The username is station and the password is wagon . You can then login to your forum account using your regular credentials

    http://www.stationwagonforums.com/tmp/

Please test it out and provide me with your feedback. Thank you!
(Some images are missing as they are still being uploaded).

    reserved for notes...

By default, the style used has a fixed width. You can change the style to take up the whole screen by scrolling to the bottom and selecting another style

Thanks. I like what I saw. Most of us old dogs can still learn a few new tricks. It just takes a lot of treats.:D

This is the same bulletin board program Ranchero.us uses, so I'm already familiar with how to use it; the first thing I had to get used to was the boxes at the upper right, for the user panel, the 'conversation' page (no more PM section anymore; I think it's not only for private messages, but for 'chat' also) and the 'alert' window, which DO NOT require a click to open them. This XenForo software is pretty much better than vBB, so I predict everyone will be liking it after a month or so.

PMs will become conversations. The same software is also used by The HAMB.

How will this change effect the Google Search Engine, and will all the pictures migrate to the new format? thanks

Redirects will handle all the old links and all content will be redirected. The new forum software also has a built in sitemap generator that gets submitted to search engines automatically. All images will also be migrated as well and there should not be any data loss (I spent months testing and perfecting the migration).

    Thanks, Stefan, for doing this.

Almost like buying a new car, it will take a couple weeks of active use to get familiar with it. I'm going to enjoy the new photo-loading features.....

The user guide will be a real help.

Might want to start with whatever are the big differences between old and new.

Thank you for that! I like the look of it. Good luck with the switch over,
