This guy is an idiot if he thinks anyone believes this is a true SS car or that the mileage is actually 28k miles.
I had wanted to send him a little message about his 'SS wagon', but he's not accepting e-mails via CL - phone only. Bummer. I was gonna have some fun with this one....
Why would it be impossible for this to be an SS wagon? Was factory wood grain not available on the SS?
I think the lower body and wheel opening striping keyed to the body color would preempt the faux wood sides. I think it is highly unlikely somebody would have spent the time and money to apply the Di-Noc to a car that wasn't originally like that, but I suppose anything is possible. Can't tell for sure, but it looks like wood grain trim on the steering wheel and I don't see any evidence of SS emblems anywhere. If it was an original SS car, somebody went through a lot of trouble to make it look like a non SS car. Maybe they were going for the sleeper look.
Nope. Notice in the text it says "SS equipment. A special touch for our Malibu wagon." It doesn't say "....for our Malibu and Malibu Estate wagon" Also, part of the SS equipment package is "lower body and wheel opening striping keyed to body color" - That would be impossible with the Di-Noc wood of the Estate. There's also the matter of the SS having specific interior trim panels, which this one doesn't have. So no, you couldn't get the SS equipment package on an Estate.
