So after spending 2 weekends to install a new Retrosound radio and 6 Kicker speakers, it was time for a trip so I drove to the highway, klicked on the cruise control ...and nothing happening. Now it did work a month ago before I did the radio install and it always took almost 10 seconds before it worked (vacuum controlled?), any obvious things I can look for before I take the handle off the steering column from my 76 Olds CC? Thanks all!

Check the hose to the vacuum release valve on the brake pedal bracket; if it was bumped or moved, it could be stuck in the open position. Then check the fuse for the system; it may have accidentally blown if you're using that circuit to power any of the sound system's circuits. I doubt it's something under the hood, but it doesn't hurt just to look for split vacuum hoses or a bad electrical connection.

Thanks I did move some stuff under the lower instrument panel so it's possible I hit something. Didn't know it had a fuse so I will check that too.
The Retrosound fits great after some trial and errors, it sounds a little "thin" to my ears and if you want to use USB you can only go up and down the list, so a playlist from a smartphone would be better but otherwise very happy.
