Well I went out today and noticed that there is a couple of drips of transmission fluid on the ground under my wagon. I crawled under it and it looks like the leak is comming from where the speedometer cable/gear connects to the transmission. It is a very very slow leak, only a couple of drops since I drove it last week. Anybody familiar about what kind of gaskets or o-rings are around this area. By the way it is the automatic overdrive transmission if that helps.

Likely an O-ring. Use some lubriplate on the old one, until you get a new one. Just pull it out, measure the diameter, lubriplate it and put it back in. Most autoparts stores have bolt and clip racks you can pick from. About 40 cents each.

Thanks Stormin! I looked at it today and it was an o-ring. The old o-ring was in 2 pieces. 43 cents later and I am back in business.
