1965 Pontiac Catalina Safari

I believe this is the car, doesn't look to bad for a NY car, but the wide lower trim on those cars can hide a lot of rust, car has a roof rack, Ugly aftermarket driving Lights, base Gauge package with Clock, battery, and Oil Pressure. AM Radio, Pwr Brakes, Under Hood reel out Trouble Light, and 421 V-8.Front seat needs redone, can't tell much else from the pic's.
One odd thing is it has the long dipstick used in A/C equipped cars, but this car does not have A/C. I would have to look it over in person for the $$$ they are asking, but from these pic's it does not look Bad.

I think that late 50's to Mid 60's Pontiac's have some of the best looking steering wheels ever made, the 2 tone plastic with clear sections are great1, but very expensive to have redone if cracked.

This has the optional gauge package, as the base Catalina would not have had a clock. Also, the trim is not that wide. Below the trim, which is where things can get ugly, looks pretty good. Could be a great car!

 

Mike, of course I agree with the Base optional gauge package, that is what I meant to say, just dinn't express it very well. Like almost any GM car of that era if you did not order some gauges, you received a fuel gauge, speedo, and idiot lights, This car has the least expensive optional gauge package.
And I see you are correct about the lower trim width on this particular car, I was thinking about the Bonneville Safari's of that era. It is my favorate year of the full size Safari's. And the 421 makes it a very rare car.

Asking price är almost $16000 which is way overpriced. But, its a 421...

Overpriced. If it was in the U.S., I'd say more like $8,000.... and that's only because of the 421.

 

Yeah, well I do agree but they are hard to come by in the states also.
Pontiac feels... Just a little better I guess...

 

1965 Pontiac Safari wagon for sale in CT

Hi folks, I have a '65 Safari I was going to put up on eBay tonight, however I figured I'd throw a feeler out here first and see if anyone was interested. It's a 47k mile car, with one quick repaint about 30 years ago. I picked it up about 10 years ago from the Pontiac dealer in Wallingford, CT who had sold it new originally and then took it back in trade in the early 80's. He stored the car away at that point, (along with a bunch of other mid '60's Pontiac's). I've got extensive pictures of the floors, frame, interior, etc. The car is solid as a rock. If anyone's interested, let me know and I'll send more info, I don't want to bog down the blog here with stuff many people may not be interested in. Thanks.

Oh, right. Sorry about that. I'm looking for $9k. Mechanically, the car has all new front suspension components, ball joints, links, etc. Also has new heavy duty front and rear sway bars. New 4 Core radiator, All new brakes, (power drum all the way around), new (power) steering box, new dual exhaust. When I say new, I mean within the last 2 years, less than 300 miles ago. The interior is all original, and complete, however the front seat has some stains and some of the material the factory used in the center sections of the upholstery is starting to break down. The carpet is faded, and the headliner has let go along a couple of the seams. The 3rd row seat is perfect. The AM Radio was converted at some point so it's actually an FM stereo now. The rear power window works with the key, however the dash switch is not working. I've never bothered to try to fix it since I got used to using the key. The 389-2 barrel and Turbo 400 transmission are original to the car and run excellent.
