Hey FT, now that the wagon is about to transfer to its new owner, I took those photos you wanted with the plates you sent me years ago. The car is riding a bit lower in back and higher in front because the mounted turbines are in the way back. Hope spring is coming to Canada soon. It's been kind of a crazy winter here, glad we're almost through it.
Thanks 90, .... I remember that plate all too well as it was on my Mercury Fox body Marquis wagon for how many years???..... count the stickers on the plate. I just found it fitting that you should have the "BC" plates era correct that have only ever been tagged to Mercury wagon on Vancouver Island even if not the same model. I Like it...... Dude!!, that's my car..... I still have the papers for those license plates, I could still use them if I had them! ...Thanks for the pic.......The Victoria BC wagon you have, if I won the lotto, it and my license plates WOULD be back on this island ASAP........
Thanks MT1, you and Tedy can work out who's better looking. Tedy, I'm selling it to an older gentleman who reminds me of the car's previous owner. He is so thrilled to be getting it and I am happy for him. He has always wanted a classic wood-look wagon and true to his throwback ideals, he found my ad in the printed Hemmings classified monthly. Much to his surprise, I had lowered the asking price after the ad was printed, so he got a better deal than he thought he would. Sorry you never got to see it in person and drive it. Those Panther platforms are about my all-time favorite. Meanwhile, I'm having an 80 inch sample of di noc made by a printing company using the scanned image from a length of 1970 Chevy Kingswood Estate di noc (imo the best looking wood grain ever put on a wagon). I lucked out when I found the amazingly intact do noc on eBay about a year ago. Now I'll have to wait for a possible future wagon Resto to use it. I'm thinking a 1968 or 9 Chevelle Concours Estate. My Mom had a 69 Chevelle Greenbrier wagon back in the day. If you read all this, more power to you!
