They should probably change the starting bid to $1.

One day left and no movement at all. That's rare these days on a GM clamshell. This one must scare off buyers with the rust.

Not a surprise. His problem is that his starting bid at $3500 is too high. He's trying to sell without a reserve, which ebays charges less for, and so he sets his starting bid at the minimum he'll take for it. Well, guess what. The market says it's not worth that much.

Yes, it costs more if the auction is a reserve-price auction, but it's very worth it in selling cars because you really don't know what the market will say. So set your reserve at $3500, set the starting bid at something like $500, and see what happens.

I think he'd be lucky to get $1000 for it.

Interesting. In his previous auction, he couldn't get even one bid when the starting price, which would have taken the car home if no one else had bid, was $3500. This time he's already up to $3850. The power of starting the auction at a lower price.

The moral of the story is, start the auction at a low price, and let the bidding take you up to the price you want. Don't start the auction at that price because buyers are immediately turned off and never even get started bidding.

The other moral of the story is, this is the problem with ebay auctions. It's their short-term-ness. Seven days or nine days or whatever, and it's done. If no one is particularly interested in a car like yours the seven days your car happens to be listed, you get no bids. You list it again two weeks later, and three guys start jumping all over each other to bid on it. Those three guys weren't looking for a car two weeks ago, but now they are.

I have a question? Are those Hurst Equiped emblems just above the front fender marker lights?

Through the first half or so of the 1971 model year you could get a 3 on the tree B-body manual. Very rare, only a few hundred produced.

Can't tell........ I was thinking maybe a '455' emblem, but the shape doesn't look right for that. Your guess might be right.
