I'm thinking that's a Townsman or a Brookwood. It has no chrome moldings.

It's about as plain-Jane looking a wagon as you can imagine. No trim. Poverty (or whatever they're called) hubcaps. Manual tailgate. We can't tell much else about options because there is no photo of the dash nor the engine, but we can see that it has manual windows and door locks.

His price of $5,000 is hugely optimistic. It's a $2,500 to $3,000 car at most. For $5,000, you can find examples of these that are higher-end and better-optioned.

It's definitely not a Kingswood. In looking at the four images of Chevy wagons on this section of a page from the '71 Brochure, it looks like the bottom one, the Brookwood.

No roof moldings or rocker moldings.

Its gotta be a Townsman. That brochure says that Brookwoods were only available in 2-seaters, this "Kingswood" has 3 seats.

You're right! I missed that. Gotta read the fine print.

I agree,Brobably a Townsman, also those are Chevy Ralley Wheels with Dog dish's and no trim rings. Definatly an added on wheel. But I think they look OK.

A nice stripper will bring as much as a loaded model, depends on the condition.

We call this a "povo pack" and sometimes it can be called a "taxi pack" as well when we refer to basic models especially from that era.

This is still a very clean car so if it is as neat as a pin, then it still has some value over and above a derby price tag imho. How many 71's of any model do we ever see come up these days? Probably as rare and as often as the 74 seems to for some reason.

I am not disagreeing with you about the Taxi cab or Dog Dish look of the Small hub caps on this car. I was just pointing out that the steel wheels this car has are actually Chevy rally wheels thatnormally have a different center cap, and a trim ring Like on this wheel (they made several variations)

A normal Poverty cap or dog dish rim is more like the one below.

Either way it is a nice looking Chevy Clam Shell

I dig this one! I'm a fan of the base models. Lighter weight, no unneeded frills, no trim to detract from the basic design. Plus I like the color. I know I'm in the minority, but the utilitarian/sleeper look appeals to me.

I contacted him for more pictures. He WILL NOT take a wire transfer. Cash only. Anyone close to this guy that I could send $ too? And that could hold onto it until a shipper could pick it up????

I'm not sure I want to get involved with any money transferring, but if you need someone to babysit her while you arrange for shipping/pick-up, perhaps I can help (depending on timing). I live less than 10 miles from R.B. If she will fit in my garage, I'll do so; if not, I have "quiet" street parking.

What do you know about its driving condition (read: safe to drive?)? Is the registration current? Title clean, etc?

If this sounds plausible, let me know and we can discuss "legalities and logistics".
