Got up this morning and decided to fuel up the Malibu and drive it to work today. My co-worker, Ray, decided to drive his Chevelle also today. I had to snap a picture of the 2 together. It was also good for business, had a few people stop by to check them out that didn't know we were there.
Ray and I now have a customer appreciation day we have decided to put together and BBQ some hot dogs and hamburgers and park a few of the old cars out since everyone seemed to like seeing them!

You need to park them out near the road someday.
Get O'Reilly's to donate some parts when you have your BBQ.

That would look great sitting out there with them! My wagon is my usual ride to work and we get a lot of people come in and
ask "Who's wagon?" People seem to like the Buick wagon too. They always smile and tell us their best wagon memory, it has
been a great conversation starter with customers. We put some tires this week on some old school Crager SS wheels for a 1970
Corvette and had to break down 4 tires and remount them with white letters out for a gentleman that purchased a 1965 Mustang
and the letters were in. Both customers commented they came to us because they seen a couple hot rods and my wagon sit out
front of the shop and it made them feel more comfortable going to a shop with "car guys" and we will take that compliment any
    day!

I posted this from my phone earlier, not sure why it came out like a list. Guess I hit a button I shouldn't have!

I'd love to park my 66 Chevelle with you guys!
My friend owns a repair garage and always has something old parked outside for the same reason. It draws people in.........he doesn't mind my Chevelle or my 56 210 coming in, either.........they get people talking, too.

THANKS! Thanks for the invite, but I like it here in TN.

THANKS! Where do yuns work or do you own the business? One of our Service Writers has a 69 Malibu Conv. that stays tucked away like mine, he only drives it 2 or 3 times a year. We keep talkin bout drivin them in on a nice day, but they would be under the awnin. Just haven't had the right day for it yet.

I've seen some people doin that at O'Reillys & Advance.....guy that worked for Advance over in Madisonville had a 60's Studebaker wagon modernized/customized a while back, I took some pics but never got to chat with him, don't think he there anymore as I ain't seen the car in a while. NEAT lil' wagon!

I've owned 14 Chevelles in 40 yrs of drivin, always had a soft spot for em!:thumbs2:

This is at Delta World Tire in Picayune, Mississippi. It is a family out of New Orleans that own it and 16 other locations across Louisiana and Mississippi. I live in the Slidell/Pearl River area so it is closer for me than my last job that was in New Orleans. I call myself a service advisor, they hired me and call it assistant manager so basically I am : Manager, Janitor, Babysitter and anything else they need. :slap:
I have no complaints, only been there a few months but can usually tell if it is a good fit for me and I really like my job and company I work for. The employees at our shop are great guys and this is the first time in a few years I actually like my job!

KOOL! GLAD to hear it! As I've told people over the years, money ain't everythin, if you don't like your job, money ain't gonna fix it.

I've worked in the Auto Parts industry since my USAF career end in 92. I've worked in Parts Depts of Honda, Toyota, Nissan, and been with Ford the last 13 yrs, and I like my job also. Don't make killer money, but don't hate to get up to go to work!

    Hey Oney !!!!!

Our youngest son is 25 and worked at a custom motorcycle shop building mostly rice burner race crotch rocket racers. He loved his job but as time went on he was more of a gopher, parts chaser, secretary phone operator and part time mechanic. He said the boss was always after him to get more mechanical work done.... but go answer the phone and run into town first.
He was missing more and more work, having head aches and some kind of chest pains.
Got mad and quit to work part time on cars wherever he got a call. This led to a man 50 miles north asking son to try out. Been there only two weeks and loves it. Works on everything from little cars to Mack trucks and Caterpillars. No more spells or headaches.
I was a trucker for a large company hauling our own parts. My original user name was a give away. We had over 250 drivers. At least a dozen threatend to kill the bosses. Yep they got fired and the bosses kept riding the rest of us. It was a job I loved but soon hated to get up and go to work. Non union replacements saved me. I retired!
I've always envied people who love their jobs. I always dreamed of being a bra designer. :rofl2:

IMO the BBQ now and then with the cars is a great idea and like you said... brings people in who mite not know you are there.

I worked for a great boss years back up island, he was a big customer appreciation day fan ....... every time a customer dropped off a box of beer he appreciated it!:biglaugh:

 That's funny Tedy! I did a top fuel size burnout early in the parking lot and the mechanic shop in front came out and gave me the thumbs up. I didn't know but the little strip mall in front of us has a dentist office in it and I didn't know the dental assistants were there early, we know all the young ladies because we share a dumpster which is around the back of our building so we tell them sit the trash out and one of us usually take care of it. Anyway they came running out too but they didn't give me a thumbs up....it was another finger they had up for filling the parking lot up with smoke! :D

Wife wasn't too enthused as she was in the house, said "What if the brakes would of released? You'd of gone out the back of the garage"! I just shrugged my shoulders........
