My name is Bill. I am a retired Air Force Master Sergeant.

I spent 40 years in Silicon Valley with the Satellite Control Facility and contractors.

I have been in Iowa for about 9 years - had to get out of overcrowded California!!

I have talking about getting a station wagon from the late 1960's for about 15 years. Currently we have a 1995 GMC Vandura custom by Star Craft. The lady of the house is having a hard time climbing into it. So, the time has come to downsize to a full size station wagon. That is why I am here...looking for something to replace the van.

Iowa, home of corn-------------- and more corn. :Welcome:
Well this is the place where our top concern is pleasing the lady of the house. When the lady of the house is happy the entire membership is happy. :D
So look around and good luck finding a reasonably low and clean station wagon. One you can bring home those baskets of sweet corn in.

I am just a few miles East of Cedar Rapids. Yep, I have heard of "Clinton" but because of the name I make it a point to stay away from it!!!:)

Thanks for the links. As I said I was 'thinking' about Ford's from the late 1960's. However, after looking around I find that for the same money I can get a much more recent station wagon that has all the modern conveniences like seat belts, air bags, better seats, etc.

So, now looking a Buick's from the mid 1990's...but, I am in no rush to get something. I'll keep looking until my self says, "AH HA, that is the one."

I may even let the spouse get a vote!!:yup:

Used to camp all over Iowa. Cedar Rapids and Clear Lake were two of them. God Bless Buddy Holly!

Well, it didn't take too long wandering the WWW to find what I want/need and I am in the process of completing the paperwork/payment via computer!

This will be different from my past auto purchases (last one was in 2002).....:)

It is 1995 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon. It appears to be in great condition - I have about 50 photos of the exterior and interior.

Hoping to have the transporter deliver it by this time next week.

    Congratulations; great looking RMW!

Since you're now an LT1 owner, you might want to also join the GM longroof forum. That group is heavily focused on the 1991-96 full-size GM wagons. http://gmlongroof.4umer.com/

Good luck on the Buick. That sure looks like a beauty!

These awful computers are amazing. Some people find cars and parts. Some find lonely women. I found a new home back in Illinois. All without leaving the comfort of our computer chairs.
