Still a lot cheaper than here even though it's cheap for Canukastan standards, todays average on my island is $0.99 a liter, so at apx 3.8 liters to the US gallon............
Here in Delaware we are still up around 2.40 a gallon. Hoping to see it go even lower. I couldn't believe I actually filled up my wife's Lincoln Town Car for 35 bucks yesterday. Filling the big tank in my Escalade has also been much gentler on the wallet
The lack of tax revenue is going to kill things,.the US can't support its war efforts with out tax revenue's China and russia dealing direct is going to really change things,. I,ve already lost my job,.
No. I have a photo of a gas station from some time between 2000 and 2004, and the highest grade at the station was $1.539.
What are you talking about? The government is taking in more tax revenue than at any time in U.S. history, and this is occurring right during the downturn in oil prices. http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article...record-first-2-months-fy15-deficit-still-179b
Yes, and on top of this, because gas prices are down, people are more inclined to travel, so they'll buy MORE gas at $2.00 per gallon than they would at $3.50, so more total tax is paid. Yes, there are all kinds of taxes imposed on the oil and mineral extraction industries and at all levels, and certainly any tax that is a function of the amount of oil extracted from the ground will fall as oil prices fall and extraction decreases. But, as noted above, there are other taxes whose take will increase if oil prices go down. And, as has been reported in the news recently, U.S. government revenues for the first two months of fiscal year 2015 are the highest in the country's history, so there doesn't seem to be any adverse effect of lower oil prices on federal tax revenue, at least so far.
$0.85 CDN for a litre. Takes 4 litres to make a US gallon, roughly. Just got my hydro bill, and our Federal snakes arm-wrestled our provincial government to add 5% on both heating fuels (Natural Gas and Electricity). Of course that never shows in our Inflation Rates. We're on electricity, by choice, because each room has its own thermostat. Hardly need the baseboards upstairs even in minus 30C weather! And my car won't be on the road for maybe 2 months. 32% of federal road tax in every litre. What a Ponzi Scheme that is! They hate competition.
I stand corrected,. sorry,. here in canada,. we pay taxes based on the price of the fuel,. fuel goes up,. tax goes up,. Course Uncle sam can just print some more greenbacks,..
Now down below $1.70 here, and this station isn't the lowest in town. It just happens to be near where I live, so I frequent this one. This is equivalent to about 30 cents per gallon in 1972. Enjoy these prices while we have them.
The sign above is for unleaded regular (86 octane). The higher octane grades are higher here as well, although not that high. I don't recall exactly, but, at this station, the 91 octane was about $1.89 and the 93 octane about $2.09.
