Claimed 17k miles. Clean enough to possibly be true. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1978-Ford-Fairmont-Squire-Wagon-/261697312983?_trksid=p2054897.l4275
Well, according to the seller, he said he would let it go for 12k, I guess he won't find a new owner for it anytime soon.
The Old Cars Price Guide does not respect these cars at all. In showroom condition, the value of a '78 Fairmont wagon is give as $2500. Seems hugely low to me, as I would agree with your assessment. Collector Car Market Review pretty much agrees with the OCPG. They don't show a value specifically for the '78 Fairmont wagon, but they do for a 4-door sedan in this condition ($2750), and it's probably reasonable to assume that a value for the wagon would be about the same. http://www.collectorcarmarket.com/collector-car/prices/1978-ford-fairmont-value.html
An even better example with V8 engine and power windows. http://indianapolis.craigslist.org/cto/4752598335.html
Sorry, correct - my mistake. The tan one was also 6-cylinder. The blue one ended at $4300 reserve not met. The tan one is better optioned and a lower price.
