    A friend borrowed my wife's '98 Volvo V70 for a few weeks while her husband's truck was getting an engine rebuild. She started complaining that the brakes were squishy; then that it was leaking brake fluid. I pulled off the left rear wheel and noticed both pads were missing from the caliper. Then I saw this:

    Mmm...try stopping a '77 Cordoba with those finned rotors, especially when one snaps the rotor surface clean off the hub.....
