I bought new tires for the Ford this afternoon. I got a set of Firestone Affinity Touring 215-70R15 whitewalls for a great price - 25% off plus a discount for using my tire store card, which in total, saved me nearly $80.00. These are a 70K mile tire. They have a great ride quality to them. I can defiinitely feel the difference between these and the old tires. I'm good with that!

I had a pair of Goodyear and a pair of Kumho tires that came with the wagon last year, so those tires are going on the son's Grand Marquis...his current tires really suck! His are dry-rotted AND nearly 12 years old. He does NOT drive it on the highway yet, but will be able to on Monday.

Two years ago I installed a cold air intake to my Hemi truck and went from 14 to 17 MPG. For some reason it slowly went back down to 14.3-14.7.
But I bought the cheap O'Reileys kit.

I haven't had a kick down linkage since I bought my wagon and haven't been able to find the correct one anywhere, so I got an idea to cut the end off a LTD V6 C4 linkage that was a couple inches too short and I cut the end off another one that I thought might work, then I cut a piece of fuel line and slipped it over both ends and put a hose clamp on each end. It works like a charm! I can't believe what a difference a kick down makes. I'm gonna burn a lot more gas...

Was 18% slow cuz of large rear tires.
Fun to drive. Do like dual exhaust looks and sound.

Took my '72 to my mechanic this evening after work and found out it is the rear main seal leaking oil... looks like another $250-300 repair.

Wondering if it is time to throw in the towel?

Ummmm....... been hearing/reading 'throw in the towel' for how many years until you got not lazy and put it on the road, and then you buy a Crapulack......???

All in fun BUT 'throw in the towel' (again x500+) over a $2-300 repair??:slap::rofl2::biglaugh:

Or fix it yourself for the price of the main seal and pan gaskets plus oil. $25.00 ??????
