I've not used one, but it has a feature that makes it better than, at least, a Holley: the center of the carb has an air bleed to smooth out idle with bumpier camshafts.

yeah silvertwinkiehobo that was one of the first things that caught my eye, then reading smaller primaries for a "snappier" throttle response and larger secondaries for when ya really need that loud pedal.

No love for a properly setup Q-Jet? They really are an excellent carburetor that give good mileage and performance.

+2 on the Qudra flush. For some, they are a hated tuning nightmare. If you do the research or have access to a good teacher, tuning is not a black magic art. Google is your friend...

Given the choice between a Holley/edlebrock/demon and Q-jet, I'll take the Q-jet every time. just steer clear of the later model "electronic" QJ's, they are not worth fiddling with, even in cars that they were OEM.

The Demon is a very useable carb, if you don't mind re tuning often, it is, after all, most like a Holley in concept. (streetability can suffer with temp/humidity changes) On any engine with a higher lift or longer duration cam, most will benefit from a bit of added plenum, like a 1 or 1.5 inch open spacer under the carb. Getting the pump shot right can be tough, just keep after it.
