Right on, my friend. Dump the lean burn and do a number on that 440 and you are in business! :yup:

That looks like THE ONE, Mike.
It's complete. It's a car from the desert, so little if any rust. Looks like it spent some time recently in Southern California (A/C R134A conversion done in Santa Monica in 2004) Assuming it's as described, the 'buy it now' price is not unreasonable.

    I'd go for it........

Yeah, Krash...8K is more than I would like to spend, but...I believe someone will hit that BIN button if it climbs anywhere near the BIN.
The car is now up, right on the coast, by San Francisco. Not a good place but may not have been there long. I sent questions to the guy...haven't heard back yet. Did you notice the spot (rust?) on the driver's side rear door at the bottom toward the rear under the chrome strip? And...is that dash pad warped? Not that it makes it a bad car....providing pads are available and, hopefully, that is NOT a rust spot in that common rust area.
You are right about Southern CA...could have been a Beverly Hills or Bel Air car.
Geeze...the car's only been on for a few hours, started at $1000 and it's already past $2500. Of course the kid bidders know they are safe with a BIN at 8K. That's what I hate about Ebay...kids playing around run the cars up. It's a goame. How far can we go without hitting reserve

Yeah, I see what you're talking about, but it's hard to tell what is actually on the door. The dash pad is possibly a bit warped, but at least it isn't cracked.

The wagon looks all original. No splits in the upholstery even. I particularly liked the way they showed the engine compartment 'as is', without trying to spiff it all up with Armour All. If I was looking right now, I'd be all over this one.....If it was down here in So Cal anywhere, I'd check it out for you. The forum DOES have somebody up in that area, but I can't remember who right now....

EDIT: I FOUND HIM! He lives in the "Bay Area" (CA) according to the member list, and get this - his name is "77T&C" - yeah, that's right - he owns a '77 Town & Country. I rememeber exchanging a few posts with him a while back. Seemed like a nice guy. Send him a PM

Yeah, Krash...that's what I would need. Patrick80 gave me a guys name that has guys all over the country that do inspections. Maybe I'll give him a call if I don't find someone here. I'd rather it was someone knowledgable from here.
    EDIT:
You gotta be KIDDING me! I will PM him. Hey...maybe he's the seller?

    Email sent, Krash.
By the way...I have an eye like the proverbial eagle. If you look at the back of the front passenger seat....a seam, possibly two, is coming apart. No biggie I don't think.

I think there is one of those on San Diego craigslist. That or a very similar one. Type in station wagon on the search function, its back a bit

    ^^^^

Nope - No old Chrysler wagons in San Diego recently. Only thing I found that might be "similar" was a '84 Pontiac Parisienne in the town of Fallbrook. White with wood paneling, 122K miles - $3,800. Old lady owned. Looked fairly sharp.

Now that's the perverbial land barge. Based on the Ford's I've owned 22 mpg is a big fat lie. My 73 Gran Torino got 16 highway with the 400 two bbl carb. 12 in town.

But gas milage is a fine price to pay for something like that. Very cool.

Well...this rig is a '77 with the yukky lean burn system. It will get better mileage than one might think. But it sure screws up a good engine. That's the thing I like the least about this wagon. It will take some money to get that 440 into performance land again. Right now, it's far from the old 440 performance.

You can keep that huge air cleaner with the lean burn computer in it and replace the carb and get better performance. As a matter of fact those Imperials of the same vintage had a factory bulletin to do just that when the system failed. For originality the modification doesn't show at all.

I just can't believe that a 4,500 lb wagon can even come close to 20 mpg with the low hp, low compression and vacuum operated emissions controls.

    But it's a beauty!:thumbs2:
