Bought a land yacht 1976 Lincoln Mark IV. 460 V8 Zactly 19 feet long. New length record for us. By one inch. Garaged, never wrecked, well maintained, 60k mile cream puff. ~1600 miles per year. A/C converted to 134. Recent brake job and tires. Everything works Does not have 8-track and sunroof options. Plans are: Window tint, Addco sway bars, Dual exhaust, Sound system. Pictures attached.
Nice clean looking car. Always thought these were beautiful (although somewhat large) kings of the highway.
Nice. I saw this listed before someplace. Recognize the license and the small winter home in south Florida.
Great looking ride. Nothing puts the BIG in big block better than a Lincoln mark! My mom has always loved these but never make enough money to keep the gas in one!
Love it. Amazing the condition some cars can be in after almost 40 years. Looks like it just drove off the lot for the first time. Somebody obviously took really good care of it. What a great interior!
Thanks all for appreciative comments. Regarding landing a plane: Based on measurements of photo 37% of length is in front of windshield. Like to move 5 mph bumpers back 2 inches each. Will check into doing it. Decided to look for a newer yet kinda classic car that didn't need the repairs my 1959-62 bunch require. A straight forward repair or two like brake job or new radiator - OK. No more than that. Being about 20 years newer with factory disk brakes, top of line type amenities (for then), lowish miles for age, and pampered care; we both easily agreed this was the one. Those are after market wheels and came with stock wheels covers in trunk. At this point I like wheels better than wheel covers. With those wheels, being white outside and red interior, it looks more lively than all others we saw. Mark IV will get suspension inspection and replace items as/if needed. Maybe: Drop trans pan replace filter and top off. Fresh power steering fluid and diff oil. New wiper blades...... stuff like that.
Love it! Reminds me of my grandfather who had a few of those white Mark Lincolns in that era. He would always 'wink' goodbye to us by opening and closing the headlight doors as he backed down the driveway.
Thanks for comments. We are pleased to find Mark IV in this condition and colors. Mark III, IV, V have not caught on in collector circles. Prices are reasonable. Perhaps their collector time will come - perhaps not. Original owners who could afford them would mostly have garages and not be abusive drivers. Even saw one with under 1000 miles. Seems the grandparents etc Marks are now becoming for sale.
