Actually it is 2-tone shame it has no sunroof! I owned 2 great highway cars and not too shabby in snow (sure grip rear end).
When I got my first job in the car business, it was as a salesman at Hart Fullerton Chrysler Plymouth in West LA and I used to sell these. Even back then, I thought they would've made a beautiful wagon.
I forgot we had that west L.A. connection, Snoot! Hart-Fullerton was one of the dealers' lots I hit when the new metal started showing up in late August / early September. I would go to most of them, Ford dealers in Santa Monica and West L.A., Chevy dealers in Marina Del Rey and west L.A. (Hansen Chev), and many others. That was a bit before you were there, though - more like '67-'72 or so. (Early on I was doing it on my bicycle...). In '79/'80 I was married, living in a mobile home in Gardena, and working as an adjuster for the Auto Club.
I used to do the same thing on my bike, KK, only it was to the dealers in Westfield, NJ. I was working at Hart Fullerton when it closed in '79 or '80 and since I was out of a job, figured I'd come back East since that's where family was. I sure did enjoy my time out there, though.
 It is nice, but I have to agree on the fact it needs to be a different colour, in 2-tone would be even nicer.
As I recall, JWD is correct. The New Yorker Fifth Avenue was the top of the line and it only came in that color. If you wanted any other color, you'd have to get a New Yorker, of the lower line Newport.
Now that seems odd. At least the early Fords could be bought in Black! Beige is not even a color. It's shiny primer!
