Newbie here with a 65 bel air wagon. My father and I are into building rat rods and hot rods. At the moment we have a 31 sedan,33chevy coupe, 63 ford f100 unibody, 38 Chevy pickup and now a 65 bel air wagon. It just so happened a guy posted a dashboard for sale on craigslist and I went to buy it, after getting their I saw the wagon sinking into his front yard. To make a long story short we bought the wagon, which has a 350/350 combo in it. Neither of us need it because we need to finish some other stuff but it runs and drives so we had to have it. We have some plans for the wagon which consist of a new clean interior, air suspension, disc brakes, 20's and 18's and clean the engine bay. Also have to do some floor repair. Here is a pic If anyone knows where to find a factory gas tank please let me know
to the forum. I've had Model A's, a 33 Chevy 4-door, and other old cars. Somehow I ended up with 55 Chevy wagon. I really needed it too! At least you kept the old wagon from sinking into the earth so you are on your way to enjoying another form of toy. It looks like a complete and straight wagon.:2_thumbs_up_-_anima
Thanks catmodelt, the wagon is pretty complete, missing a couple surround pieces for the headliner and two outside body mouldings. The car has some rust through out but will be a fun car to play with and drive to the junkyard to get parts. I know what I will be taking to lowes for the next lumber run lol. The inside is huge.
Now I remember why I bought my wagon. Even though it has way less room than yours, I bought it to haul valuable car parts from swap meets.
Oops, my bad. I thought the 283 emblem had an emblem with no #'s but the 327 equipped cars had 327 on top. Isn't the first time I was wrong nor I'm sure, will it be the last!
Thanks again everyone for the warm welcome, what area of the forum do people put build threads. I like to document the progress of our builds, also let's other family members see what's going on week to week.
