I mainly drive the Fury on the weekends and to cruises and the like, it's days as a daily driver are for now behind it. I think that in a way it makes it a tad more special. Both of my boys love the car, the youngest who is two calls it the "Burry" and wants to take it anytime we leave the house and the oldest who is six and has already laid claim to it. Of course their dog Tucker loves it as well. Any time I fire it up and pull it out of the garage he does the "Happy dog/going for a ride!" dance.

This weekend we had a family reunion at one of the local parks. My wife suggested we take the Fury, so we pilled in, just like we did when I was a kid and my Dad before me. As I've mentioned before, the car means so much more to me than just cool vintage transportation. It's a connection to the generations of family members who have been a part of this old car it's entire existence and making new lasting memories for me and my family.

I took this photo a couple of nights ago and thought I would share it with y'all.

There's only one thing wrong with this photo. The dog needs to move up to the driver's window like Tedy's old photo.
    :rofl2:
    Love the wagon!

Great picture. I'm sure that at the family reunion, the wagon was remembred by others in the family and that it brought back fond memories to all that were there.

Sounds like your wagon is loved by everyone one in your family, including the dog. It's great that your all are enjoying it. :yup:

Building memories is great fun and when it includes the whole family it makes it that much better. I'll bet the family would have been disappointed if you had shown up in something other than the wagon.

Sunday drives. We used to do that as kids, we used to do it as a younger couple, then we got too busy. Suddenly we did not have the time to load up the wagon with a picnic basket, a couple of lawn chairs, and head out for nice country drive, stop in a local park or somewhere scenic and relax. We put a lot of miles on the wagon doing just that, and we'd often join friends with their vintage vehicles.

We've started doing that again. Great fun. No family here to do a reunion like you did, but lots of friends to share the adventures with. Your boys will remember these times just like you do and hopefully want to recreate them again for their children. And while you are doing that you are also locking in values such as family relationships and valuing the memories of the past. :1st:

    Yup.......

That pic make me wish I had an older wagon when my girls were younger. I believe at least they 'partially' caught their love of cars from me.

Wonderful picture; almost looks like it's right out of a Plymouth brochure. This is exactly what wagons were designed for; load up the family and hit the road!

    Thanks everyone.
It really does bring me joy to be able to have my young family actually use a family heirloom for its intended purpose. Every time I drive this car it brings back memories for me, and without fail it brings back memories for others who see it. My Aunts and Uncles get a kick out of seeing it as well. Generally it provokes fond, warm memories.

Except for Aunt Agatha who remembers Grandpa running over her foot in the driveway. Well, that one's probably not a real memory, but someone in the family probably has a less than fond memory of the car. Every vehicle my parents had included both good and not so good memories.
