...although it seems to be a repaint that is missing a few things. This is the color of my old '88 cherry except mine was a woody, had cornering lights, the correct fender badges and the strip on the gate that's missing on this one. Grey was a rare color. I SORTA like this car but there's things about it that I don't like. Not to mention that it's 2000 miles away and pricey for a 200K car. If it was closer I'd go take a look.

That is a damn nice lookin Beu-hog. I like that color alot on her. Just 3 downfalls I see with her, price, its 307 and has high miles on that 307. I dont even mind the looks of those hubcaps with those whites. though I would still change them out, but it still looks good as is. Great base for a BB swap and duals.

A few years back, when we ended up with our Colony Park "Pearl",the wife and I were in agreement, that one of these would've been an excellent Plan B.There'd been several for sale,in the months leading up to us getting the money to buy a car with, including a blue one with woodie. But just as soon as we had the money,Pearl was the only 80's woodie wagon of any make, within 200 miles of our computer(one of the search options).

Yeah, Blackie...a long way away for a look see, unfortunately. And the price is nuts even though it looks good from here. Don't like repaints either...would rather see the honest car. Funny that you don't like caps but like these ok...I don't like them at all and have never seen them on an '80's Buick before. Mine had the Buick mag veined wheels. This car has a few things that are suspicious like that. Should be an Electra but is missing certain things. Looks put together to me.

He might have been like me and hated the rattler spokes and dumpstered them. I have a set of those Buick Steel Ralleys, actually 2 sets, 1 set of 14s for my old Regal and another set of 15" 5 on 5's that was on my 79 Coupe DeVille. Im missing 1 center cap out of both sets. If my Roadie didnt have the Aluminums, I would be tossing them on it.

I havent fallowed them close enuff to know whats correct or not on it. Id drive it, no doubt.

That's one of the things that bothers me about this car...most Electra's came with those wheels. Although people do rip 'em off to use elsewhere like you did. Another thing ...I see 2 Roadmasters parked out front...probably his next online sales. Says he's had this one since '92 though. Says it came from CA. I sent and asked for driver's seat pic and the VIN. Funny how you never here from a lot of sellers again when you ask for the VIN.

Still another bothersome thing...he says it comes with a set of studded snow tires! Makes me wonder how much rust is under there....or how much bondo is under that paint job. The paint job that looks like a Maaco to me. Yes...you can tell one of those from a pro paint shop job.

There was a car locally, same year and model, that sold for two grand about three weeks ago. It had a little less than 100K on it. A friend bought it.

Dunno about your Maccos out there, but the one we have here, other then thier crappy tape jobs, are top notch sprayers. The can lay down some fine looking jobs with no dust or orange peel, then they bake them for a nice hard finish..

It's the paint quality I have the problem with...and their metallic isn't correct in color or size. Some of the guys shooting in Madison are quite good...but Maaco won't let you use any paint but theirs and it's a dead give away.

Dont take this wrong Silver, I like ya but, I discovered your problem finding a car. You my friend, are way to damn picky! Im happy to find a car in my price range, I dont care about color, paint, make, year or milage. Its hard to find a car within a limited budget that isnt rotted out or needing motors or trannys. What you are looking for is sitting in a collectors show room somehwere. This 1988 is 21 years old, be happy to find one that has a body left or in running condition. I gave $1300 for mine and I couldnt be happier with it. I just discovered it has a rear main leak, but Im gonna keep checking the oil every morning before startup and drive her till she ****s out a bearing. Then I will rebuild it and keep goin. You wouldnt like my Roadie at all, but for $1300, its most likely the best looking and most solid car you will find in this part of the country.

No doubt. I've stated that in other threads...I AM particular. Used to be a worse perfectionist in my younger days. I take no offense from your comments, Blackfoot. Even THIS one COULD be brought back...

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trkparms=tab%3DWatching&item=180344662710&viewitem=

But I'm getting too old to do a whole number on the body and interior before starting on the new engine. LOL...the old guy that has this one on Ebay has a little car lot and shouldn't. As nice a guy as he is he gets many cars that look like they were just pulled in from the local salvage yard. He had that '60 Plymouth wagon on Ebay ... SUPER rough...wanted $6000 for it.
Anyway...yeah...I'm particular. But then, finding a cherry is half the fun. And if you DO find a cherry like my old one...you don't have to mess with anything but the engine & tranny. AND...if that grey one was $2000 instead of $4500 I WOULD be looking at it. I have become even MORE particular with the '80's wagons too...because I'm thinking '94-'96 LT1 instead. :yup:

Honestly, I did not think about it until I saw the pic of the wagon you posted! I figured you were searching more for the later Buford...if it ever comes up FS again, I'll tell you!!!

No problem, Pat...I was just kidding. Besides...I HAVE been looking for a '94-'96 LT1 Buford. But, if I found a great late '80's I would have to take it.

That grey color looks good. You dont see the grey color too much, most of them around here are blue or white. It looks pretty nice, but not $4500 nice.
I had my wagon repainted at Maaco almost 2 years ago. The key to Maaco is to take off every last bit of chrome, and do the prep work youself. I took everything off my wagon and prepped it myself, and the paint turned out excellent. I am completely satisfied and for $400 out the door I couldn't go wrong.
