John Wayne preferred Pontiac station wagons for his family-friendly daily driver, but when it came to cars, The Duke wasn’t an off-the-rack guy. Seeking enough headroom to comfortably wear his trademark cowboy hat inside his automobile, Wayne entrusted Barris Kustoms with raising the roof on his 1975 Pontiac Grand Safari station wagon. This particular Pontiac, set to cross the auction stage in Monterey next month, was the third and final raised wagon built by Barris for The Duke, and was reported to be among the last cars driven by Wayne before his death in 1979. http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/...d-1975-pontiac-grand-safari-heads-to-auction/
Looks like the front skylight was taken off of a 68-72 Vista Cruiser. Anyways, John Wayne's car. Enough said.

Head Room Should have taken a note from Flxible . On the 63 the stock windshield was tilted more forward gaining about 3 inches of head room. Not real noticeable but a clever solution to a higher roof line without the pinched look at the top of the A pillars to the roof.
