Reading all the news about the huge rains, flooding and even hail and tornado's that Saskatchewan (try saying that one fast) and Manitoba are experiencing just hoping all you folks are doing okay. Egads, with Fanny having Arthur drop in for a visit, now Norman and Andy and the others on the prairies getting walloped with storms, this could be a difficult summer for wagons in Canada. With the Manitoba government breaching the damns or whatever it is the are doing and thus flooding large tracts of farmland you wonder about all the vintage tin out there that becomes instant junk (not to mention the crops, the critters, the farmers homes and equipment) etc. Best of luck folks - let us know how things are going in you neck of the prairies.
Jeez........if you 'hunker down' for a tornado, you just might drown! OK - 'Hunker Down'.....in a boat. Take care everybody.
The worst part is that was all avoidable. I ran the production division where the water manometers were made for the Federal Government's water management division. These devices measured the speed and volume and chemical content of ALL the surface water across Canada, UNTIL this current OIL-EMBEDDED government pulled them, or gave the responsibility to the provinces. They ignored them and let this 'early warning' system fall apart. That wasn't enough. Our Manitoba Government controls Manitoba Hydro. The let them DAM up the northern tips of our 3 big lakes, 600 miles North. They used to drain into Hudson Bay, and out to the Atlantic. Now they spread across our towns and farms. And ironically, fill up Saskatchewan's and Manitoba's oil wells. Masters at self-sabotage. :banghead3:
Crazy high water levels here on Lake of the Woods. Lots of docks and boathouses trying to float away.
Put some extra air in those tires and maybe your land yacht might become a river bardge. Stay save guys.
Geez Andy, you are really ahead of the curve, once again. And Fannie is always thinking of ways for the rest of us to spend our loot
You'd think the previous owner was prepared in case it became the Yellow Submarine? :2_thumbs_up_-_anima Man, she's a long one!
I have property on an island and need to develop some of it so it'll be seeing duty hauling materials one way and trash the other. It'll function as a floating dock as well. I had a floating dock system installed last year on one location, and it cost over $2k more than this boat. Heck this comes with a motor!
Here's what record snowfalls, thick ice and flooding does to wooden structures. This pile of floating rubble was a big dock and lean-to boathouse.
