Don't feel bad. I have my 1979 Ranchero on Ranchero.us, Fullsizebronco.com, Seattle Craigslist AND here, and after 5 months, only one nibble.

You're kidding, right? With all due respect, this car is a total mess and probably not worth more than $100 or $200.

This one photo says it all:

Look at those front seats. They are totally covered with mildew.

Here's another one. Mildew everywhere. You know what it would take to clean this car out? A small fortune.

In this photo, the car is rusty, and the rear bumper is falling off.

For the $1500 you're asking for this, someone can buy a comparable wagon in much better condition.

Agree and no offence...... Some time you have to take the loss and walk away putting sentimental aside, this old girl is done.

Does it turn on? It looks like it's been sitting for a while.

I hate to say it, but I do agree with the consensus here. This wagon is done. Just to remove the interior would require full on hazmat suiting and ventilation by a licensed abatement company. Mold of that magnitude is plain dangerous to the health of anyone exposed to it. Better to bite the bullet and call the wrecker to haul it to the shredder. It is not very often you will hear me say that about any car.

Now that I've seen the pics, I also agree. I don't drive my Ranchero right now, as my Exploder is my current DD, but I do my best to keep it clean and dry so it retains its $1500 price tag. I just sold my beloved full size Bronco for $300 as a parts truck because the engine and transfer case were both shot, and I really needed the money.

Here is an example of what I mean. This was posted in another thread on here. The seller wants $700.

The car is not perfect by any means, but for half the price, you get a running, driving car that does not appear to have mildew-covered seats.

Sorry Marty, I agree. Most of us here hate to see any station wagon get scrapped or used at the demo derby but this one died a sad painful death in the Florida sun and humidity.
I'm at least 75 miles away and with the wind out of the east I think I can smell it! Call LKQ and say goodbye.:yup:

Maybe try putting it up for parts, maybe some one close needs some exterior chrome bits, tail lights etc. I hate to say it but I'd even try to sell it to the derby crowd, at least it would go out fighting rather than just being instantly crushed/shredded. But all and all you have to drastically drop your asking price.

I know we live on the other side of the world from each other and what may sell for "$xxx" in one part of North America may only sell for "$xx" in another but seriously think about your asking price. Date is wrong in the pics below, but I just picked this up for $200, parked under a carport since 2000, never directly exposed to the weather or with the windows down, no mold, no stink. If it had molded on the inside I honestly would have walked away because the only way to get the wagon out was to sit in the car and steer as the wreaker was pulling it out but mainly for the fact, Mold is poison.

And jaunty has a valid point, not just the wagon he showed but we also see many more wagons that can be driven and not molded that are in the $1000 price range.

If it has a running v8 and working trans, list them for sale and let the buyer take the car. If its a 6-cylinder, let the junkyard have it. In either case, if you get $300, you did OK.

I could not even get $700 for my NICE '89 Safari when I tried to sell it 4 years ago. I had to end up trading it for a '89 BMW, on which I sold for $2500. :)

This is what amazes me about some of these wagon prices and their quick sales. I'll admit many are super clean and low mileage. But still there are just so many station wagon lovers around and people with the money to buy one.
