Hi all, I'm a twice retired, genuine antique teenager. I've built several types of racecars and a couple of street rods. I'm currently driving a street legal sand rail. (works very well here in SW Florida) with a 9 second bracket rear engine dragster, currently covered in cob webs, in the car hualer. (Yes Virginia, the economy still sucks)

A couple of months ago, I helped a buddy with a re power on a 85 Caprice wagon, with a 500 cuin Caddy engine. It's gonna be a family cruiser/getaway rig. I have a dozen or so 472/500 engines and TH-400 BOPC trannies currently filling up my shed, so Now I want to find either an Impala or Malibu wagon to build a cruiser/tow rig, set up for a cross country wander with a small trailer.

For a bit, I'm just gonna hang out in the cheap seats, and watch. I welcome any suggestions about size/type and features I might want to include...

    Thanks, Paul

Hello ya old fart in SW Floriduuu from a young kid in NW Floriduu. Let me know where ya live and when you are gone. I could use a few big block engines to play with. :Welcome:
As you know there are no more cheap seats so bring your check book and have some fun here.

Welcome to the nuthouse we call Home. I can see you will fit right in around here. Don't be shy, jump right on in. We're all pretty much car nuts in general, and wagon nuts in particular. We're also GREAT at spending OPM! LOL

(That there looks mean and nasty....)

From one OF to another, welcome, Paul to the SWF.

Throwing out the Olds 307 (that's what I got) or the Chevy 305 for a 500 CUBIC INCH CADDY is one way to wake up the passengers.........

And about that sittin' back part - don't you dare! Jump right in!

Actually, the RED caddy handle started about 13 years ago when I was racing my Rear Engine Dragster, Cadillac powered, called "Cadillac style".

I ran NHRA/IHRA Fast footbrake, super pro, 9.90, 8.90 index and Quick rod RWYB. Never really made much money, but, I got hooked on the Quick 8 gambler races (a pretty regular event at most 1/8th mile, cow path tracks, all over Florida and Georgia) I got a lot of reasonably priced seat time, living on track food, "Winner Dinner's" and Tums...

I'll try to get some pictures posted as soon as my desk top is back up and running.

    Paul

PS. the 51 is my birth year, see, I told you I was old...

OLD? Compared to some of us here you are a young whippersnapper!(y)

The funny thing is I've been called Model T since my mid twenties.
