I drove around 550 miles this weekend in part of the Hot Rod Power Tour. The Roadmaster did fine, but after I got home I noticed the rightside carpet was soaking wet :(. The firewall pad on the passengerside was soaked also. Where would the condensate drain be located at? I ran the A/C and noticed water dripping out of the box next to the firewall....

Sorry can't help. Sounds like the drain hose is plugged.
But you wrote------------A/C not draining in a 96 Roadmaster... when that is your problem.:banghead3:

I'm having a heck of a time trying to find where the drain hose is on one of these...

Hopefully somene here with experience in that model can help. Texas Mike worked for a place that did AC work and is also good at explaining things on wagons like yours.
I know it can make a mess inside a vehicle, eventually leading to rust, rot, and mold.

There are a couple of possibilities.

You may have lost the small elbow on the engine compartment side of the drain.

The other option is a clog in the channel between the two parts of the pan. The only way you can determine that is to remove the pan. You will have to make a new gasket with silicone, because the old one is probably toast. When installing the pan, put a slightly oversized bead of silicone in the channel everywhere the gasket was, and a little around the screw hole in the bottom of the pan. Install it while the silicone is still wet.

I have had some issues with leaking in that area, and it is actually my windshield. The urethane has detached from the body at the cowl, and water backs up under it behind the cover above the cabin air fan. I checked it by removing the cowl, and using some modeling clay to make a dam along the cowl and onto the glass, sealing it against the urethane. Then I put water in the dam to see if it drained out. When it did, I knew exactly where the leak was coming from.

The drain is beside the "through the firewall" connector for the main harness under the AC connectors to the evaporator. There is a 5/8 inch tube that should have an elbow on it. If the elbow is missing, the water will blow back into the passenger's compartment. A straight hose will not work, it has to be vented down.

X2...I didn't realize that until a few years ago when Chrysler had a recall on the caravan's and the repair kit we were given was a elbow to slide over the tube coming out the firewall.

I saw a picture online of the elbow, and I don't remember seeing one on mine. I'll check and make sure tomorrow,,,,

The elbow hose is missing, I saw a thread in the ImpalaSS forums on somebody who adapted a 90 degree spark plug boot and rubber hose, and made one, so I'll give that a shot. The carpet wasn't in that great shape, so I think I'll order a carpet kit for it while I'm at it.

I'd swear I've seen those rubber or actually plastic elbows in the "helpful parts" rack of auto parts stores. Or how about checking a nearby salvage yard. Must be lots of cars with those elbows.
Or how about a plumbing PVC pipe elbow of that size from the hardware store? They often come in tan, white, or black.

I actually found one on Rock Auto, went on ahead and ordered it.

The elbow fell off mine after I removed the underdash half of the heater/ac ducting. I couldn't figure out where it went until reading this thread.

    Thank you,.

It pays to read the posts.
I can't believe Rock Auto or anyone has those elbows.
