Wheels are zip to change and ugly wheels to some when a car is for sale could be leveraged. Some people will let that look get in the way of their buying the car, others will see past that stuff and look at the basics to ensure it is solid and otherwise a good buy, and can often get a decent deal without the usual competition. I saw a 72 GMC truck, gorgeous dark green, all original, big block, on Sunday. Everything was perfect except for the 22" wheels and rubber band tires. An older fellow, looked like 70's??? was displaying it. Quite frankly I was surprised at the number of folks who commented just while I was looking at it that they liked the look. I'm sure he probably got positive and negative comments all day but for the 10 minutes I looked I heard nary a discouraging word. The important thing is that someone is enjoying the car. If they want wheels they like on it go for it. They probably snicker when they see my wire wheels and skinny white walls on the wagon and think "there's an old fart - wonder if he bought that new?" And to them I'm the one who needs a bit of a shake up. What bothers me is they might be right - eeks!!!!
