Today, Friday, I went to the Carlisle All-Ford show for a few hours. There was no shortage of Mustangs filling up the main part of the show field, but if you knew where to look there were a lot of more interesting Fords (Galaxies, Falcons, Fairlanes, Torinos, Cougars Mercurys, etc). As usual, I took several hundred pictures. Those who are unfamiliar with the layout of Carlisle may have missed most of the cars in these pictures as many of these cars were in areas not plainly visible from the main part of the show field which was completely dominated by hundreds of Mustangs that were fresh off the dealer's lot. I didn't take pictures of anything newer than the mid 70's. Heres a link to all the 500+ pictures I took today. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/...073741878.100001111775214&type=1&l=bc906d1f24
Thanks for taking the time to share your pics. Went last year and had a blast, my son and I will return next year. I hear what you are saying about the Mustangs, when we were there I don't even look at them, great car but I don't need to see a thousand of them, I am sure that it is the same at the GM show with the new Camaro or the Mopar show with new Challengers. I figured that it would be worse this year with them celebrating the Mustang's 50th. cheers!
At least in the past, the classic Mopars have filled the prime real estate at the Carlisle Chrysler show. I hope that will continue. The GM show at Carlisle is a bit lame. Every time I go to the GM show I feel like I missed the show by one day. There is never a great number of cars at the GM show, and even though the Camaro club boycotts the GM show because its on the same day as a big show of theirs less than 50 miles away, it still seems that 1969 Camaros dominate the GM show. When I do go to the GM show, I go in hopes of seeing a variety of cars from all the GM divisions, but it seems like fans of GM vehicles mostly don't associate their cars with cars from other divisions of GM (the Corvette guys don't even seem to associate with non-Corvette Chevy guys). The last time I went to the Carlisle All GM show was 2011. There were some nice cars there, but just not very many of them. Here's a link to the pictures I took at that 2011 GM show. About the only classic cars at the show I didn't photograph were some of the 69 Camaros (because I see 69 Camaros all the time anyway). https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.198958886817836.47931.100001111775214&type=1&l=247b53afe6
New cars are new cars, Just because it has a Mustang/Camaro badge well, it may be a nice modern daily driver, but its a world away from what we're all about
