Thanks all - as for the Kia, we had one as a rental last year in CA., Awful. We had to get out to replace the screen rubber before it fell out and it wouldn't even do a hill start in San Francisco. As for economy on the wagon, a mild smallblock with EFi and overdrive trans would be the ideal way to go methinks. But it will be a second car, not my daily, so I wouldn't turn down a 427 Impala wagon four speed if it was cheap
Well it takes a while on this small island but I think I found a 60s longroof...going to see tomorrow, updare soon!!!
Well it seems like the hunt may be over...this time next week if all goes to plan, there'll be a 60s wagon in my garage. It needs work, but its a driver and I think its kinda cool so, pics to follow!!!
Welcome aboard. I notice you're not giving us any hints as to what kind of 60's wagon you've found. Don't leave us hanging. Post pictures as soon as you can. Meanwhile, we don't mind seeing pictures of your Firebird even though its not a wagon. For years it seemed that I rarely saw 67-68 Firebirds. Now there's a green convertible that regularly attends our local Friday evening cruise in. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/...073741872.100001111775214&type=1&l=d1c3a18b1e And there are two different yellow 67-68 Firebird coupes, a black coupe, a red convertible and a white convertible that now regularly attend our local Saturday evening cruise ins. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/...073741871.100001111775214&type=1&l=306ad8eaf0
Jim great pictures. So these are at regular weekend cruise ins? They are larger than local shows around here. I remember when a good friend had a black Firebird. All I drove was a stinkin 72 Gran Torino wagon.
They are weekly cruise ins, but all the pictures were not from one Saturday. The pictures in that album are from several Saturdays over the last three months. There are usually about 100 cars each Saturday (more if you count the newer Mustangs Camaros etc). The Friday evening cruise is pretty small and can be very hit or miss, but its real close, so I go pretty regularly.
Guys, thanks for your comments. The wagon is a 65 Impala 327 - pics soon, the Firebird is a 540hp 462 stroker, Global west suspenison, Tremec five speed, lovely car but I got the wagon itch!
I could fall in love with that blue color. With luck the Firebird might make it to the store and back with a load of groceries.
