Hi everyone !! This is such a great forum, so many nice wagons wow ! We never see any of those here in our salty and cold area... I enjoy your friendly site very much, it makes me dream of having my own wagon some day, too bad they dont build some 8-9 passengers station wagons anymore. Our 2003 Legacy turned out a very reliable car that can beat any snowfall, very pratical when you work far and before the snowplow gets out, but it doesn't have the class of vintage american wagons ! Maybe some day... My 3 year old daughter keeps asking her mom if she agrees that we buy a Country squire... so funny ! Even tough we speak french she learned to sing Country squire by Thom Shepherd watching this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=reEuJBjeeb8). Btw I hope there's not too many errors in my english. Welcome to the forum from a warmer place where station wagons still roam the streets. Good luck on finding a wagon of your own someday. And about your English. It's far better than some of ours when we are not pretending to be rednecks. Yes, I pretend. I'm from central Illinois and I ain't no redneck no way, ya'al.
Loved the video, thanks, never heard that country song before, it sure would have had a great ad. Do you not have a Subie wagon? That does count. Sounds like your brainwashing of your 3 year old is working, keep up the good work. Glad you found your way here aboard.
Welcome to the nuthouse we call Home. Great choice of wagon your daughter has! Every so often, great Country Squires come up for sale here in Canada. Depending on where you are in Quebec, some from New Brunswick have not been all that far from you. Good luck with the hunt. Of course, with a good set of snow tires, the Country Squire will get you through any snow fall that has not actually closed the roads. Krown Oil Spray does work!
Subba Bubba Hi everyone and thanks for the nice words of welcome ! Yes I'm sure when the time has come I'll find a nice CS/CP around here. I'm in no hurry, my daughter and my 3 nieces are keeping me very busy... but I must admit it's hard to resist to the nice ones that show up regularly in the northeastern states, like the terrific CP in Detroit right now ! My wife accepts the fact that I spend some time on the Peugeot (finding parts is quite time-consuming...) but she wouldn't be ready yet for on addition to our "fleet" ... Fannie you're so right, actually I love my Subie, it's such a practical car and I find it good looking. My daughter calls it Papa Squire... I suppose it means nothing but it's fun We used to call it Subba Bubba after the chewing gum brand. I posted in the garage some pics of that car, it's Krowned almost every year since I bought it in 2007 and, like Mike says, it really works. No rust after 11 years here ! Have a nice day ! Pombi
Car buying un the states Thanks Fannie, I like it very much too ! I had almost nothing to do on it in 7 years excepts brakes. Everything else is original, including the stainless steel exhaust so I'm trying to keep it for many more years, though sometimes I wonder if everything will let go at the same time... Btw, I like the CC in Lansing... and it makes me wonder how to safely buy a car in the US, I mean making sure the title is clear, etc ?
Hello everyone, I just found this forum and I'm new to posting so I apologize in advance for not knowing where to post this hello. I've admired old station wagons for most of my life and there are a lot of really nice ones here.
I'm back like a very old penny... Can I tell you Dewey... I'm in love with the lovely green wagon... not sure what it is, but mine's green too... gonna have to figure out how to post a pic as requested... I've been away for a very long time, but finally found the address for you again. So... I hope i'm welcome back... and welcome to your Canadian newcomer from another newcomer... Blue
Thanks Blue! The color or (colour up your way) took me about 45min of huming and hawing to pick, landed on a 70's Porsche green, dark and bright at the same time. Then added a silver pearl to the clearcoat. All wagon lovers are welcome here.
back Blue and also to another new member... Ovash. You could start your own thread by clicking on Welcome Wagon at the top of this page then click on New Thread, top left and everyone will chime in.
