Yep I remember reading about and seeing Playboy cars years a go. There were thousands of new brand names over the years. Most likely the end of the Tucker was the biggest problem for Playboy.
It had nothing to do with the magazine which came out in 1953..... so I've been told.

Wagons are the most practicle vehicles for playboys, Sir. Maybe, not for baiting. But, certainly for getting down to business

Sir, many years ago while camping near Lake Geneva, Wisc my wife and I were invited to the former Playboy mansion on the NE corner of the lake. I drove up behind a line of Mercedes, Caddy's, etc in my new red 1972 Ford Gran Torino.
Barely got to say Hi to Heff but his lawn and pool ornaments were nice.;)

I saw that Playboy article in my Hemming's daily E-mail the other day and it did get my attention...I worked a couple streets over from the LA Playboy Club in the late 70's, early 80's and one day we went across the street to 7-Eleven to get our morning snacks. There was this beautiful girl in line in front of us and the counter guy kept saying "I know you from somewhere?", but she just smiled and didn't say much. He kept asking her who she was and I finally said "You're Debbie Jo Fondren, aren't you?". She smiled and said she was. She was Playmate of The Year for 1978. Really long blond hair, like to her knees. The only reason I knew who she was was because her centerfold was taped to the bottom of the bunk above me while I spent my last year in the Navy at sea. She walked out to her silver Caddy that she got for being POTY, gathered up all her long blond hair, tossed it in the back seat and drove off...Good times...

Unfortunately for those pool ornaments, they always get taped onto the wrong side of naval submarine bunks. Those using them as target practice always make the mistake of loading pudding rounds and then pointing their cannons in the opposite derection, Sir

Since we are slightly off topic I will continue. I've only been inside a few submarines. All on land in museums. The last was a German sub at the Chicago Museum of Natural History, I believe. I don't think there were any bunnys in it.
Getting back on topic. I have mentioned this before. I was also in the small garage and parts area of Ernie Hemmings in Quincy, Illinois when Hemmings Motor News was a small memiographed newspaper type thing. Since he lived in the country there could have been bunnies there.

There could have been Funny Bunnies in there, Sir. However, back then, they had to keep it to themselves or otherwise get sent kamping

That creates a strange vision. How did the German Navy send it's sailors kamping while at sea and underwater?

I suppose, maybe, they sent them on manned torpedo missions. The supsense of waiting to reach German ports and then get to die slowly in some facility would have been worse, Sir :49:

They simply didn't join a branch of the service which confines them in some deep sea vessel with other boys, Sir

There were usually assorted publications, but I just used them for the articles... ;) In the early days we had one vinyl record, Dave Mason's Only You Know and I Know. A few years ago I attended the decommissioning and went aboard her again and they had a huge flat screen TV, DVD's, CD's, video games and unlimited entertainment...
