The price wasn't on the add and I'm too embarrased to ask. If it's reasonable I might sell the house, all my cars, and my wife and get a loan for the rest. Was the Nomad red? I never noticed. But it's CUTE.
Reminds me of the guy in Alaska showing an old Inuit his new snow machine. He says, "I got it for my wife." The old Inuit says, "Good Trade."
This is all you fault anyway OldFox for posting that add. My wife said I can have the 55 Nomad but she ain't leaving. I guess that's a good thing. I can't cook, wash clothes, or chop wood.
Going to pick these up in the morning for my Roadmaster. Found them on Craigslist. Have to go to Tillmans Corner, Alabama in the morning to get them. It is about a 1 1/2 hour drive so not too bad of a ride. I am going to run a 225/55R17 on it.
You should be putting the $ into the other wagon rather than wheels for the new one..........but ain't I the pot calling the kettle black, I made a phone call to my 'old man on the mountain" friend today and this week will be going to his private car yard looking for stock steelies and dog dish caps for my Buick, rather than putting $ into my beateor....again.
Can't resist wanting it to look like I have pictured, it was very hard not to take the wheels for my Caprice wagon and use them. I figured while I have the extra funds since selling 2 other toys I better use it on my new toys before I find more bills to pay. Extra money and a washed out weekend of rain are very dangerous things at my house.
Love the wagon - and the color is my preference as well. Looks like a great find. Now and then we see one of these pulling a vintage trailer and they just look so perfect together. Great find. Congratulations.
I just read an article the other day about the top 5 things that waste money while not enhancing the value of a car. 1. Aftermarket wheels and tires. 2. Custom paint job. 3. Tinted windows. 4. Dual exhaust. 5. I forget what it was!! Obviously the person wasn't a car guy or he would know that these things aren't meant to add value to the car, but he says it's money that can't ever be recovered. Their purpose is to individualize their vehicle. Still, just about every POS you see for sale on craigslist has custom wheels on it, even if its been sitting in a field for 20 years and many of them "brag" in their listings that the car has a magnaflow muffler on it.
We all have visions in our heads how we want our cars to look. Some of those visions are expensive and others just plain odd. But wheels and tires seem to make the biggest change other than a repaint. I say if it's reasonable and it makes us happy go for the changes. Just make sure the baby eats and the utility bills are paid.
It is definitely no coincidence I am spending money after 3 years on my wagon and bought another cheap one...I am also down a boat and truck to make this happen, bringing lunch to work instead of take out has left me with money to spend on them! Only thing I am lacking for my Caprice is the pulley set up, which I am trying to get from someone. After that a little cooperation from my knee and back and I will be good. I hope to get a few years of enjoyment out of my Roadmaster and if or when I decide to sell I don't even bother trying to calculate what I have in it. Now if I was buying it to sell now I wouldn't bother personalizing it.
either this thread grew like Teddys nose hairs...or I missed it completely congrats...i think...hold it...boat gone...truck gone...large burgandy boat in yard now...ok...i got it
