What a bargain! I hope this one don't end up in a derby like the '72 Impala wagon that was posted on here!!

Cant argue with the asking price on this one if it indeed runs!

Man if it was only closer, I could use some items off of it.

I could do a lot with this one...... pending interior condition, frame condition etc and I know mine does run, but a 429 would be much nicer for me rather than the 460 swap I have sitting in the garage ( let alone the smog 400 I have in it now)....... and have to get off my lazy @zz would help a lot also:D

Did you ever verify that motor mount question? 429-460?

If you are referring to the PM question I asked you re-motor mount compatibility (400-460)......... I'm sticking to what you said:tiphat: And I can't remember now, but for that reason, I'm still looking for correct motor mounts:yup:.... I honestly can't remember the out come of that, other than I didn't buy them

Ha ha okay, as I recall it was the posistion on the frame rail and the bracket either straddling the rail or mounting top side...but hell I can't remember for sure now either, but thanks for the vote of confidence. :bouncy:

Darn, I wish they posted more pictures of this one. It's way too far away for me to even consider it, but I'd still like to see a whole lot more of it.
$900 sounds like a great price, depending on the condition of the mechanicals and exterior of course, but from the two that he did post, looks like it'd be a good deal.

Not intending to be the party pooper, Snoot..... But you can't tell anything about the car from those 2 selective pics. Just saying:)

I called the guy. Very pleasant on the phone. Says it does run. But,
there is NO TITLE ! However, he is working on getting a duplicate.
No rear jump-seats or luggage rack. Or power options. A.C. but not
working. He said in a very honest way, he's not sure if it has rolled-over
and it could be over 100,000. I really liked his putting that out there.
SOMEBODY PLEASE SAVE THIS WAGON !!! No rust! Calif. Car.:yippee:

According to the sales brochure, the 460 was not originally available in this wagon. Could it actually be a 429?

This is one of my favorite years for CP. Why must the good bargains be so far away?

I believe the 460 first came out in '72 and was available in the Colony Park. I remember seeing that engine in other Marquis for that year as well.

It took some digging but I found the last page of the 1972 Mercury brochure showing the engine line-ups for the various models. Here's the linkie. As for this car, I would love to see some additional pics of this wagon. The two photos just don't tell you much. Anyway, I know mechanical parts are pretty darn inexpensive so getting her on the road again wouldn't break the bank.

Thanks for the link, Hull:2_thumbs_up_-_anima. I did know the 429 was a option......just wish mine came with one rather than the boat anchor 400:(...... and that's why I have a 460 in the garage, if I would just get off my @zz and do something :rednose:
