Has the "Valencia" interior, super rare, and very 70's! Same interior my parents special ordered in our '78 Grand Safari wagon! http://sanantonio.craigslist.org/cto/4349449834.html
Excellent idea! That Valencia interior looks surprisingly good given the exterior is a bit weathered.
The cloth interiors in the American built cars from this era was outstanding and as this one demonstrates sure stands up to the test of time. A true testimony to the quality American textile manufacturers produced. In comparison, I owned a '80 Honda Accord LX hatchback that had a beautiful red velour interior. Unfortunately after a few hot GA summers, it began to turn brittle and the substrate was splitting apart in it. I would bet a dollar to a donut that this Valencia fabric was produced by Milliken & Co., Spartanburg, SC. Milliken, a huge privately held company, was an American powerhouse in textile research and leadership led by Roger Milliken for many decades. Roger has been gone about 3 yrs now but his company has apparently endured and diversified. He was an outstanding American businessman. I had the privilege of working for the firm as my first career job out of Ga Tech. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_Milliken
Have a friend that got a engineering degree from Georgia Tech. Unfortunately, the sedans had a different bolt pattern.
Glad this one isn't closer to me, I would have to look at it. My wife's favorate color is Yellow, I can usually bring home yellow cars without to much sneering involved!!!!! LOL One thing to watch out for on the Late Rally II wheels is most non wagons received 15X6 wheels, and they seem to bend easely. they also seem to be about 5lbs lighter than the earlier 15X7 versions.
Incredibly beautiful tan and black velour Valencia fabric interior on that yellow Bonneville Brougham sedan! Even if it cannot be transplanted to KK's 1981 Pontiac Bonneville Safari station wagon, it needs to be saved!
I'm surprised the upholstery is looking as good as it does. If this were in my area, and priced more reasonably. it would be nice doing an interior change.
