I would have said that 2x4 bbl carbs would be WAY too much carb for that engine! Looks great, but I would want to put it more to stock spec.

    Anything designated a "440" should at least have a 440 in it. I'd settle for a 413, though :)

The "440" was a model designation for the "B"-body Dodge and had zip to do with engine displacement.

The dual 4-bbl on the Poly 318 consisted of two Carter WCFB 4-bbl carbs, which are smaller than the Carter AFB or the AVS. This is a rare set-up, and finding good WCFBs, along with linkages and the smaller air cleaners this combo uses, is a tough deal these days.

Yes, indeed. The 440 Dart was the predecessor to the Coronet. The "Dart" designation is somewhat misleading, since the Dart went on to become the designation for Dodge's version of the Valiant.
The dual quad set-up would only be worthwhile in a lightweight Valiant sedan. Since that Dart could take a bigger block, it would be a waste of time running a 318 in it, unless your grandmother plans to use it to go grocery shopping

You can make a poly 318 to be quite a stout engine for not much cash, sice it uses many of the same parts as the later LA-318 ('67-newer), such as oil pump, timing set, distributor, engine mounts, linkages, water pump, timing cover, front brackets, cam bearings, rods/rod bearings, and crankshaft & crank bearings. I know of a 610-hp Poly 318 in the Dallas area that is in a 10-second '63 Dodge 440 sedan.
