Sold to a local mechanic with a growing family. Thanks to those here who bumped my FS thread. I'm relegated to a mini-van now. More practical for my purposes but I'll need to wear a fake nose and glasses while driving it. As soon some remodeling is done to the house and I've eliminated a few more posessions I'll be in the market for a new wagon. A BMW 5 series (E34) '89-'95. Are foreigners allowed here? PS Any CC owner who desire a factory shop manual PM me
A wagon is a wagon. Now, some Bimmers were Fords, and that I recall, we don't have a BMW Wagon owner here. So go for it!
Well, I hope that your Custom Cruiser enjoys its new family! And nobody cares what the wagon is, as long as it's a wagon!
Thanks XXX for that.. we currently have.. 1958 Buick Caballero 1971 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser 1976 Buick EstateWagon 1976 Oldsmobile VistaCruiser 1981 Mini Clubman Estate 1990 Buick EstateWagon 1995 Buick Roadmaster Limited 1997 Volvo V90 Plus a few on the side... 1976 Buick EstateWagon 1977 Oldsmobile VistaCruiser 1998 Volvo V40 1998 Volvo V90 1998 Volvo V90 2001 Chevrolet Blazer (maybe not a wagon -- but heck it has a tail gate) Hehe so its not all US wagons but a few Europeans too.. Cheers Dyna
Yep you are right it has a luggage rack, what I don't like is that it's tailgate aint opening like a door but just downwards... -- just got it in a try to make a buck or two for our other wagons.. It's a nice ride although Cheers Dyna
your taxes must be out the wazoo! dont your folks in the UK get taxed based on engine size and fuel economy and how many cars you have?
Yeah, I'm not wild on it either. And with the Jimmy, the dang thing leaks fluid when you drop the gate, so Dad always says "Don't leave that gate down too long" Always get rushed through whatever you're doing. Thank God for my wagon!!!
Before 2001 it's a flatrate tax on all cars (well under 1500 cc it's a cheaper one) -- it's not that bad but not cheap. However you do not need to tax them all at the same time and you get a refund of the tax you paid as you put them in and out of non operational so to say.. We are currently looking at a dealer plates thats one expensive plates but you can use it on any car so to say.. Cheers Dyna
"Now, some Bimmers were Fords," I'm confident that BMW hasn't and never has had any relation to Ford. Are you thinking of the Swedes? I've had a BMW 5er wagon in the past. It's a great car. The US versions weren't available with a manual transmission but it is a common swap that will no doubt be done to the next one. It's getting tough to find them in excellent condition since all are now at least fifteen years old and many have fallen into the hands of people who do not maintain them properly. Deferred maintenance on a German car is a very costly thing to put right.
Back in '85/'86, the BMW turbodiesel from the 524td was used in the Lincoln Continental and Mark VII.
