Not my style. But sure looks clean, even after walking over to the neighbors to see the right side. :rofl2:

It looks like a fun little car. I wonder if it originally had wood grain inside of the chrome trim on the sides?

Don't think so, Doug. There were a few European wagons that used Di-Noc to copy the American way of doing 'Woodies' in the 60's and 70's, but for the most part, they left that alone. What you see on this one is how it came new, with the exception of the wider wheels. These were sold by Ford dealers in the US, by the way. Its competition would have been the Datsun 411 and later the new 510. This one has probably been in the US since being imported from the factory.

This is pretty and unusual and it's left hand drive. I'm guessing it will take close to $15,000 to buy this car. I have the Corgi toys version of this car in red and in blue. That's the closest I'm going to get to owning one.

Absolutely perfect little wagon! Just think, for the price of a modern econobox you could easily have this to drive and have real personality, not to mention some very nice handling. Whoever gets this one is going to have a fantastic little car.

We had heaps of Cortinas in Australia, one even winning our biggest track race (still even today) the Bathurst 500 later 1000 in 1963 but very few wagons until the 1970's. This one would be a real head turner in Australia today.

I don't remember ever seeing a Cortina in the States. To legally license one, it would have to comply with federal standards of which essentially apply to anything newer than 1966. I know, we had this discussion before (I think it was over some Citroen Maserati). But, if it's that easy, there are plenty of cars here in Europe which could sell for more money in the States than over here.
That Cortina looks cool. Not in any way boring, at least. However, didn't anyone notice an uncanny resemblance of that to contemporary Corolla and like-sized mazda wagons?

Then, you must have seen them within the last 27 years or so. Cuz' I've not yet seen one, in the States, unless I thought that the Cortina I saw was a Corolla

Cortinas were imported to North America, both in the U.S. and Canada. Unfortunately most of them that came here rusted in very short order.
