Motomike, I thought the same thing about the wheels/wheel covers. Originally, I thought they were Buick wheels, but they actually seem to be wheel covers with the Olds emblem on them. Try as I might, I can't remember seeing those covers before, even in '73. I guess they must've been a rarely ordered option.
    Gorgeous car for sure.

I was watching this auction as a potential buyer when the bidding was in the $7,600 range. I figured if it ended at that amount I would make a counter offer than keep my fingers crossed. With the bidding ending at nearly $10 G's I gave it up and dropped out.

.....with what this car bid I would say, I was on with asking $7000. for my 1975, both car's are very close condition and option's. (y)

To me, those appear to be the Buick chrome wheels with Olds center caps, Snooter. Just checked the '73 Olds brochure on-line. No mention of these (or any) custom wheel being offered on the big Olds that year. They did offer the polycast wheel in '72, but it disappeared for '73 - probably had issues. You'll see it in the bottom left corner of this pic:

Here they are on a car:

Our old 1972 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale 2-door hardtop (that we had in the 1980s) had those wheels pictured.

Now at $10,300 with reserve still not met with just under 2 days to go.

Expectations are low on this Olds for selling.

Hey, I'm all for a brotha trying to make a buck or just breaking even but I just don't see that happening with this one. This wagon sold last January for $10,877. I figure you add another $1K or so to ship from Portland to Virginia and you're all in at around $12K. With State registration fees and such you're maybe $12.5K. If you're desperate to sell than sometimes you just gotta cut your losses and move on. I think we all have been there at some point.

I'm guessing the dealer that sold this car figured that out when he wanted $18K and settled for much less. The current owner may have to face up to the same thing.

It's only worth what somebody will pay for it, regardless of what the seller might feel. I think that's probably one of the best things about Ebay is that it has such a huge following, you essentially reach out to anybody who might have an interest in it. As such, the market value is what the market value is.
