Couple of weeks ago, wife, son and I go to the drive in in the wagon. While waiting in line to enter there were 2 young boys, around 11-13, playing football with a 20 oz drink bottle filled with rocks. That is normal here..LOL. They stopped playing an looked over at the car and were commenting on it, "wow look at that, check out the rims, and my favorite, that has swagger"! I was grinning, while my wife was about to bust laughing at me. Got parked in our spot to watch movie and the little girl next to our spot was telling her folks tht she liked that cool car. Backed in popped the glass, let down the tailgate, wife and I sat in chairs behind the wagon while son piled in the back. Had a blast. Wife has given us a new phrase, " They had wagon envy."
Nice. It's been several years since we went to a drive in movie. There's one within around 75 miles that used to be sometimes open. I guess I need to check it out. At least our youngest, 24, did get to go to a few drive ins in lower Wisconsin over a few vacations. But that's been over 10 years ago. Nothing better than station wagons and drive in movies. Well, sittin in the back seat of a 49 Dodge wasn't all that bad either!
Yeah, especially when you are in the back with your favorite honey and all the windows are steamed up so no one can see inside.
did the same a few weeks back...threw my g/f's daughter and my Grand nephew into the rear seats and hit the drive in....they thought it was great fun and loved the people pulling alongside giving them the thumbs up! they thought they were rock stars they had me back in so they could stay there to watch the movies...me and the gal sat on lawn chairs till it started to rain then we swung the car around and all piled in the front seat together !!
