Today while driving from an estate sale I spotted a wagon sitting in a field. FOR SALE. ,,,I. Had to stop....... After calling the number and leaving a message , I received a call back. I went back and looked at it a little more carfuly It was all there and the price was right. But it was a 2 car deal,,that's OK . It's a 73 LTD with a 429cid I'm gonna use the complete chassis for my 50 MERC project. $ 900. For both and they turn over,,that's all I know so far And the interior is almost perfect and black The body is really nice. I'm picking them up tomorrow.theres a catch ,,no keys or titles But they do have registrations , and a seller who is willing to do some foot work With the DMV to get that straightened out The wagon has a 390 C6 A/C power brakes steering ETC. I am so pumped,,I have wanted a wagon for a long time...... Pictures tomorrow!!!!!!! Thanks for staying with me.. Robert H
Sounds like a fantastic deal you got. That 73 with the 429 could be a rather rare car in its own right, too. What all equipment is on it? If it has the Brougham package and a lot of options, it is probably well worth saving. Keep in mind, too, that LTDs in the 70s had a longer wheel base than earlier and later Ford cars. That perimeter frame is also not the best one in the world, as it can be prone to rust if not carefully looked after.
Hey Robert, aboard two for the price of one...that's how a few others got here. Enjoy, looking forward to your pics.
Great news on the 68 wagon! That body style is very popular! Hope to see a new build thread on your car.
