new color and more

    hi all
    long time away ? yap, but after the engine and transmission swap to TBI its now time for a new color.
    i´m not a friend of this plastic wood and silver color.
    lets begin

    next was the big side panels, the last owner thinks, no one see the waves under the plastic tree

    first step is done. the roof an the Hood are painted.
    only one little mistake on the hood but it´s easy to fix.
    my new paintgun Sata 4000 HVPL works great, i love this gun !

    Great idea to paint the roof and hood separately. I always painted the door edges, hood, trunk edges, etc. then the entire car. Your way prevents the overspray.
    Never said I was a painter. :49:
    Altho on my wagon it was two colors so I guess I did do it that way.
    Too much painting without a resperator!:banghead3::biglaugh:

    the last car, my wifes Olds Omega, i painted all in one, but too much overspray.
    this time ? nothing:yup:

    today out in the sun

    tomorrow i start with masking and cover the roof and hood

    the paintjob must not be perfect, it´s a daily driver, but i´m very happy with my job

    I made ​​it myself and this is important

    after 3 hours the last step painting :yup:

    9 liters basecoat and 6 liter clear

    after 3 weeks i start with colorsanding and buffing
    [​IMG]
