that does kind of interesting. Kind of like that 1980s El Camino with the Buick Grand National front I saw once. The body work was very well done. As for the phrase I wasn't sure how it is was spelled ( I assume it is French phrase that has been adopted into American English) so you may actually be correct.

I'm a rebel-flag flying redneck in the north, planning to move to SC soon. Abbeville, the birthplace of the confederacy. My brother and sister are twins. Robert Lee and Dixie. We're darn proud of our southern pride and I wish more people respected that. It's not about racism or anything, it's about pride.

    understanding

(1)Here in the L.A. area are countless bumper stickers proclaiming that this car's owner loves Zapotec and that car's owner loves El Salvador. Our 95 Taurus has a Yosemite sticker on it...Now,I'm pretty sure it's the places, the land itself, the people are in love with. Not with the politics or the economics of the area,or they'd still be there. The Bush Administration has been in charge of Yosemite for the last eight years, and I,for one, have not been in love with that. It's the place Yosemite I'm in love with...There have been several documentaries on TV,here, about African-Americans in cities like Detroit and Chicago, who feel no real affinity for those places. They've visited down South and thought,"Hey,now THIS is a nice place." Many are moving back, past politics and economic situations aside.
(2)Used to work for a lady named Dixie Lee Charlesworth(how's that for Southern?)That sounded like she was from Albama,Missippi or Loozianna when she talked. She was born and raised in Indianapolis Indiana. So,yes, there are quite a few of you misplaced Johnny and Jenny Rebs.Good luck with your move.:tiphat:

Airport limos to southern pride? Talk about hijacking a thread.:rofl2:

I just went and liberated these pics from their owner. The car is cool, most Vista-like, but it also looks a lot like a hearse, good or bad. How much did it sell for on evilbay? I used to hang out at a gas station and they maintained a couple of airport type Checker wagons for a retirement home. They wouldn't fit on the lift so they had to work on them on the ground and hated it. :D That car has a back seat, a way back seat and a way-way back seat that you can see, may be some more in the ultimate way far back. [IMG]

Hey BlueVista, is it still for sale? Where is it? Do you have the name of the business that it's at?

They are in the gallery that I posted!

    those looks,and other stuff

Isn't that a Toronado front clip?;)One of the local residential care homes used to have a Studebaker(or maybe some kind of Rambler)one of these things. On the driver's side it had only the driver's door;but on the passenger side it had five doors, for the five rows of seats:dance:.Never thought to take a picture of it.:cry:It would've fit right in,here with this one.

    Yea, it's a Oldsmobile Toronado!

It's probably one of the easiest bodies to convert to one of these because of the front wheel drive.

    God, I want that!

    weaving threads

meandering again, like we did with airport limos and Southern Pride:p.Sorry to hear about how you lost your first car:(.Lost my first car(a 68 Colony Park)to a 71 Chrysler Newport "drifting" out of traffic at 55+ mph:49:.My car ended up about five feet shorter and severely twisted in the middle:cry:.The Newport drove away, later that day. After the owner's son pryed the left front fender away from that tire with a driveshaft:mad:...I really wanted to have the psychic power to make that Newport blow up in a big ass ball of fire, right at that moment:evilsmile:.This was before mandatory insurance in California and the owner was a retiree on Social Security:162:.I never thought it'd be so difficult to find another 68 Colony Park:49:.We ended up with our 86,because it was the ONLY Colony Park for sale within 200 miles of our computer:oops:.And that was here in L.A.!I wasn't in the 68,during the destruction:whew:.Hope you weren't in yours when it got smushed...Good luck in your search in finding your next one.(y)

Thank you for the kind words. I'm very sorry to hear about your Colony Park, that's a huge shame. It's terrible when it happens, especially to a classic. I was in mine when it got smooshed, I was driving in an intersection, the lady who hit me, drove away. She was actually my gym teacher at the time. She had her signal on, so did I, went to turn, but she didn't have that in mind. I got hurt pretty bad, have a permanent bad back from it. The car was totalled, insurance company took it. Gave me a pittence for it. I just haven't found the right 60 to replace her yet. I wonder where my old one is now....

It doesn't matter, you'll always be labeled a racist!

The KKK, White Pride, Skinheads etc. all used the confederate flag as some kind of symbol.

The world has changed and become very PC and the confederate flag will eventually become extinct, maybe not in our lifetime though but it will.
