I have a 1967 Ford Country Sedan. The last time I had it out I had the rear tailgate window down. Sunday I went to put it back up and the crank rotated, both directions, but the window did nothing. I removed the inside panel to try to fix it but to get to anything requires the window to be up. I'm stuck as to what to do. How do I get the window up to take things apart to see what to fix?
If the window crank mechanism has become detached from the glass, maybe you can manually push glass up from the bottom.
red 65 stang, you may find that the guide channel on the bottom of the glass is jamming on the winder mechanism and will need to be separated/levered away to allow glass to side out freely from downunder
You need to disconnect the glass from the regulator assembly, so the glass and its frame are loose. Lower the gate. Then slide the glass outward, keeping it in the channels onto a flat stationary object which will support it. We used to use a plastic garbage can with a blanket over it which was just the right height. Then get inside and troubleshoot your crank problem.
