I love this color! If this had been offered on Buicks in '72, I would most certainly choose this for mine! David
Beautiful car at a great price. But it's not "9 passenger," and I don't know why people insist on saying that about the three-seat versions of these cars. I have one. There's eight sets of seat belts in it. Three, three, and two. The product literature for '73 states that if you opt for the three-seat version, the third seat has two sets of seat belts.
What is this car worth? I live only 15 miles from where it is, and got ahold of the people yesterday and went and checked it out. The interior is very very clean and nice, no cracks in dash, headliner is mint, one seat only has one small flaw, rest of interior is nice. Both front fenders have alittle bit of rust, not bad but rust is still there, floors and frame good, spare tire area has a little rust and on the underside of the drivers quarter/ where it meets the floor it's a little crusty there and has some rust. The rear bumper has a rust hole in it. The 455 runs good and has 94K miles, has a small exhaust leak. I took it out on the road and it rides pretty good. The a/c needs charged, blower does not work on all speeds, and the am radio does not work. If there wasn't any rust in it I would have bought it on the spot yesterday, but I don't like rust. What would be a ball park figure on the car, I would like to buy it and drive on weekends for a few years and possibly resell it if I get board with it.
I emailed the owner on the weekend also.....I wasn't really happy with the answers he was giving compared to what you are saying the condition of the car is in. He said it didn't really have any rust.....no major issues......he said. He also mentioned he had issues with the car dieing and having to wait several minutes before it would start again
Car is worth 3 bucks ALL DAY LONG! If it was local I would give that in a heart beat for it but from where it is shipping would be @ least another 7 bills.
Thanks for the write-up, Racer81x! From your description, it sounds like a good value, just a bit short on the equipment list. If I was in the market, I wouldn't be put off by the rust you found - not major and certainly not unexpected.
LOL Racer81x. You will buy it, drive it for a year or two then smash it. You know what they are worth so why are you asking us?
Looks like this Olds Custom Cruiser has sold. Ad posting deleted by author. For $3k (or possibly quite a bit less), I'd say a good buy, noted flaws and all, for a 40 year old GM clamshell wagon from the original owner.
