Hi there all in this forum and as in the title I live in Sweden so I might write in bad English:). I think I have the only 1966 Colony Park here in Sweden which I bought in 1998 and is the first owner of here in the country.
Now I would need a template of thin cardboard of the tailgate window (which was broken when I got the car) so my local glass shop can cut out a new one, if anyone here could be so kind to help me with this and send it to me I would be very very grateful and of course I want to pay for your work.

Welcome to the Station Wagon Forums, Mercury (or 'Merc'..) I'm sure someone here might be able to help you with a pattern for your glass. Better yet, there might be someone on the forum that is actually in Europe - we have quite a few European / Scandnavian members here.

You may well be able to find the correct tempered glass already made. I know the tail gate glass is the same for the 65 as well as the 66 Mercury wagons. I believe it is also interchangeable with the same years of Ford full sized wagons. The glass may also fit from the 67 and 68 wagons as well, since I believe they all used the same roof panel. Checking a Hollander Manual will answer the question. Keep in mind that glass does have to be tempered for safety. If it should break again, un-tempered glass would be exceedingly dangerous.

Ok thanks all, unfortunately the sixtes wagons are not so popular here overseas its conv. 2dr and 4dr hardtops that are popular but not against me no fun to have something that everyone else has:jumping:.
When I search on the forum there are some ones who seems to have 65-66 Colony Parks so I try to contact them to try to get a pattern.

mercury66, I am about to go out of town for a couple weeks. When I get back, if you still need a template, I'll see if there is something I can do. My 66 Ford should be identical.

There may even be a way to use a grid pattern on paper taped to the window, and then take pictures of it. A glass maker should be able to transfer the equivalent size and contour of the window. In the meanwhile until I return, perhaps someone else with a 65-68 Ford or Merc can attempt the same thing.

mercury66, did you ever get your tailgate glass issue solved? Or do you still need someone to make a template for you?

I have contacted a owner of a 65 Colony Park here in Sweden and I have also found a 67 LTD Wagon that looks to be the same as mine, so I think I solve the template here in Sweden but thanks anyway:2_thumbs_up_-_anima

Good to hear. Another new member posted today looking for tailgate glass for his 68 Ford, and it reminded me that you also were needing one. But sounds like you've got it taken care of.
