Not exactly my cup-o-tea. Not in bad shape. Good color. Point of interest; Is that part of the drivetrain we're seeing thru the floor, in the picture with the backseat folded up??? Remember Iacocca saying, he thought Chrysler's deal to sell Toyotas was their biggest mistake. It took being bought up by MBZ, to get rid of them...

I think that's the jack. You can see the handle to turn it along the front edge and it's the same color.

Looks like its never been used.

It is in great shape. There may well not be another as nice anywhere. Still, not a car I would want at all. They were cheaply made, and the seats were lousy. Not one of J.A. Pan Inc's better efforts.

These were, body-wise, an almost direct copy of the '67-'72 Datsun 510.

I like the Datsun a bit better.

Not Toyota. It was Chrysler's partnership with Mitsubishi that Iacooca was discussing. General Motors partnered with Toyota on several vehicles. Ford partnered with Mazda.

I think that it is a good deal if you like the car.
As long as it checks out and the condition is as good as they state go for it. It would cost you that much alone just to restore and paint the body.

    hmmm

It probably cost half that to buy it new.... As they say on those TV auction shows, "It all depends on how much two bidders are willing to pay to get that car." I'm not really in the market for a Dodge Colt. If'n I had the money to get a dinky 70's wagon, I'd get either a Mercury Bobcat woodie or one of those Vega wagons Chevy had because they partnered with Opel.;) And then, how much I paid for one would depend on how well off it is...

Those were much stronger dollars, back then. Today's 5.000 dollars might be less than the actual new vehicle price
I had a 2-door hardtop, in that series. I think it was a '76 model. It had that basic engine cubed 1600. I didn't find mine cheaply made (we got Made in Japan vehicles. I don't know how the quality was when they were produced elsewhere) and the bucket seats were better than most contemporary Japanese seats. The ride was unusually soft, for a Jap car. It made the vehicle feel heavier than it actually was. The steering seemed direct. What was also unusual for a Jap car.
The Subaru's had the most uncomfortable seats I've ever sat on.
Here's how they were delivered to South Africa, in case you need a few more horses:
