This weekend was the annual all Buick show sponsored by the Puget Sound Chapter of the BCA. The show is held in conjunction with Meeker Days in Puyallup and so there is always a good crowd of spectators. This year was especially good as the sun was shining for the first time in years. With the sun came 150 cars to display and a huge crowd of spectators participating as part of Meeker Days. Given the usual rainy days for this show, I decided to enter the 78 Estate Wagon... it's first show ever. Spent quite a bit of time cleaning and polishing it preparing for the show, and the car performed beautifully on the 4 hour drive down (although the gas mileage was pretty poor). Surprisingly, the car took 2nd place in it's class (1967-2011 closed cars). The wagon was especially popular with a lot of the crowd with many people stopping to look, point, take pictures and tell me how they had one just like it growing up. A lot of fun for me. Here area few pictures of the wagons that were at the show, including a beautiful 57 Estate Wagon that won best of show last year. One of my favorites was the 47 Ambulance with "Sunnyside Mental Hospital" written on the side... he had working lights and siren.
Thanks Guys! Rev, it would be great to meet up with you and some of the other local guys... we should pick a date and meet for coffee one morning.
now just to find a date we all have some wacky schedules...but lets work on it ...maybe pick a shownshine and meet there?
sounds good Rev I'll check the ol' calendar to see what weekends I am free and pick out some potential events from Harrison's Event List that might work. We could always hit one of the A&W Cruise nights too if weekends are tight.
